Interment followed in Evergreen Cemetery in Jackson County. Officiating the service was Rev. Josh Ivey.
A chemical operator at First Chemical Company and a member of the Holiness faith, he died September 21, 2013. He was born May 22, 1936 in Laurel.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret Buchanan; sons, Thomas Wayne "Bo" Buchanan of Laurel and Randy (Robin) Buchanan of Tennessee; step-daughters, Sylvia (Joseph) Nugent, Veleda (James) West, Marie (Anthony) Whitley and Constance James, all of Lucedale; and Kathy (Bill) Meigges of Chesapeake, VA and step-sons, Reginald (Tammy) James and Frank James, both of Lucedale. Also surviving are a number of grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Jon Wade Buchanan, and his parents, Homer Elom and Maudie Scott Buchanan.
Pallbearers included Jacob Nugent, Matthew Nugent, Christopher Broadus, Nicholas Whitley, Anthony Whitley and Chad Pipkins.

An avid outdoorsman, a retired operator from V.T. Halter Marine shipbuilders and a member of Community of Christ Church in Vancleave, he died January 20. He was born on November 8, 1949.
He is survived by his spouse; sons Victor (Laura) Burge and Adrian (Samantha) Burge; several grandchildren; brother William Burge; sister Sandra Chisholm; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews; and special friends George Washington and Leonard Fountain.
He was preceded in death by his infant son and parents John W. Burge and Virgie Allman Burge.

She was a 2003 graduate of George County High School and continued her education at Remington College in Mobile, AL where she received her degree to pursue a career in cosmetology. She was a wonderful mother, wife, daughter and great friend to many. She will be dearly missed.
Mrs. Butler is preceded in death by her father Joseph Nelson of Lucedale, MS, paternal grandparents Sam and June Nelson of Helena, MS and maternal grandparents Clem and Libba Merrill of Helena, MS.
She leaves cherished memories with her husband Jonathan Butler and their children Conner, Zoey and Bailey, all of Lucedale, MS. She will also be greatly missed by her mother Lisa Nelson of Lucedale, MS, brothers; Joe (Mary) Nelson of Lucedale, MS, Jeremy Nelson of Leakesville, MS, nieces and nephews; Lauren Nelson, Kyle Nelson, Makenzie Murrah, Cherokee Butler, Casen Nelson, Dennis Nelson, Brently Scot and Lilly Mouser, mother-in-law Debra Butler and father-in-law William Butler, sister-in-laws Jennifer Butler, Cindy Maker and Delores Seals and brother-in-law William Butler. She also leaves behind numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives, friends and her precious dog Lola.
Visitation for Melissa Butler will be Saturday, September 14, 2013 from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM at Heritage Funeral Home. The funeral service will begin at 11:00 AM in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Helena, MS.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Bertis and Evelyn Goff Davis; husband, Troy Buckhalter, and daughter, Linda Buckhalter.
She is survived by her son, Charles (Barbara) Buckhalter, Theodore, AL; 4 grandchildren, Deidra Dueitt, Chad Buckhalter, Michael Ebersole, and Christy Stokes; and 10 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, May 14, 2013, from 10 AM to 12 Noon in the Chapel of the George County Funeral Home, Lucedale. Funeral services will begin at 12 Noon. Burial will follow in the Shady Grove Cemetery..

He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Elizabeth Bucca; son Joe Tackett of Ford Madison, Iowa; grandsons Gage and Garrett, both of Lucedale and Gavin of Iowa; mother Eva Bucca of Deltona, Fla.; sisters Joanne Clemmer of Tallahassee, Fla., Burnadette Schou and Cyndi Bucca, both of Deltona, Fla.; brother Paul Bucca of Deland, Fla; friend who was like a son, Randy Lusk of Lucedale; and aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews in New Jersey.

She is survived by two daughters, Cleo Mangione of Vestavia Hills, Ala.; and Bertha Stewart of Hoover, Ala.; one son Clemon Stevens of Lucedale; 10 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren; 4 great great grandchildren and 2 great great great grandchildren.
Also surviving are two brothers, Oscar Easterling of Petal and W. J. Easterling of Richton.
Conducting the services were Rev. Charles Andrews, Rev. Jimmy Parker and Rev. Curtis Easterling. Interment was in the Prospect Cemetery in Perry County. George County Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

She is survived by her two sisters, Catherine Bachar and Melberta Davis, both of Mobile, AL; brother Albert Howell of Lucedale; two nieces, Kay (Bill) Callender and Marjoria Ann (Robert) Hall, both of Mobile, AL; three nephews, Tom (Donna) Howell, Tony (Connie) Howell, both of Chicago, IL., and Mike (Sarah) Howell of Mississippi; and ten great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Eugene Bumgarner.
Interment was held in the Pine Crest Cemetery. Radney Funeral Home in Mobile, AL was in charge of arrangements.

Master Burge was a native of Picayune and resided in Houma. He was a member of the Sycamore Baptist Church. He died Wednesday, March 24 at South Down Care Center in Houma.
Survivors include his mother Angie D Smith of Gulfport; father Marc D. Burge of Lucedale; two brothers, Aaron and Zachary Smith, both of Gulfport; one sister Amber Smith of Gulfport; step father Rodney Smith of Gulfport; maternal grandparents, Arthur Lee Stockstill and Sylvia Stockstill of Picayune; paternal grandparents, Rev. Harry Burge and Eleanore Burge of Lucedale.
The services were conducted by Rev. Billy Farrell and Rev. Ross Perry. Interment was in the Sycamore Baptist Church Cemetery under the direction of Picayune Funeral Home.

He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Elizabeth Bucca, son Joe Tackett of Fort Madison, Iowa; grandsons Gage and Garrett, both of Lucedale and Gavin of Iowa; mother Eva Bucca of Deltona, Fla..; sisters Joanne Clemmer of Tallahassee, Fla., Burnadette Schou and Cyndi Bucca, both of Deltona, Fla.; brother Paul Bucca of Deland, Fla.; friend who was like a son, Randy Lusk of Lucedale; and aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews in New Jersey.

She is survived by three daughters, Martha Ann (Julius) Blakeney of New Orleans, La., Paula Kay (Ford) Welford of Minneapolis, Minn, and Sara Elizabeth (Jerry) Hollis of Cleveland, Tenn.; six grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and three sisters, Sara M. Edwards of Conebatta, Christine Laughlin of Madison and Ada Jean Baugle of Atlanta, GA.

A native of George County, he was a U. S. Army veteran, police officer with the City of Lucedale and a law enforcement officer with the George County Sheriff's Office. A member of the Pentecostal faith, he died on May 28, 2004.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Riley and Flora Burnett and a brother, Donnis Ray Burnett.
He is survived by his wife, Dianne Burnett; two step-daughters, Karen Morgan of South Carolina and Marilyn Wollmuth of Lucedale; a step-grandson Roger Charles Wollmuth of South Carolina; a sister, Carrie Mae Shoemaker; four brothers, Calvin (Emiley) Burnett of Saucier, Dan (Joyce) Burnett of Benndale and Robert (Pat) Burnett and Archie (Vickie) Burnett, both of Leakesville; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Obit: Connie Jean Erkhart Burnett, 60, of Dixon, Mo., departed this life at her home on August 1, 2009. She was born May 1, 1949 in Lucedale.
Funeral services were held August 5, 2009 at 10 a.m. at Long-Gilbert Funeral Chapel in Dixon, Mo.
She was preceded in death by her husband Dale Lynn Burnett, her son Jessie Day, father Willie F. Erkhart, Sr., and mother Ernie Jean Eubanks Erkhart.
Connie was a member of Gasconade Baptist Church of Dixon, Mo. and was active in the community, volunteering throughout the year with Relay for Life. She was a five-year breast cancer survivor who enjoyed bowling and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She worked at Life Care Center of Waynesville, Mo. for 21 years. Connie and her husband Dale both worked at George County Hospital before moving to Dixon, Mo. in 1984.
Left to mourn the passing of Mrs. Burnett include three sons, Michael and Toni Day of Foley, Mo., Robert and Tiara Burnett and Kris and Samantha Burnett, both of Dixon, Mo.; one daughter, Karrie Glenn of Pearl; ten grandchildren; one great-grandchild; one brother, Willie F. (Vonda) Erkhart, Jr.; three sisters, Jan (Johnny) Dees, Joyce (Mike) Williams and Tammie (Roscoe) Neely, all of Lucedale; many nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.

He loved God, his family, meeting people and sharing jokes and favorite recipes. He died March 28, 2009.
He is survived by his son, George Patton "Pat" (Taffy) Busby of Lucedale; his daughter, Jessica Ann (Glenn) Ledford of Berwick, La.; two grandsons, Patton Busby and William Ledford; two granddaughters, Lilly Busby and Elizabeth Ledford; his sister, Mary Nell (Ralph) Sims of Collins; his sister-in-law, Judy (Wayne) Motes of Lucedale; his niece, Melissa Caldwell; and his nephew, Michael Walker.

Obit: Funeral services were held for Lou Ella D. Burchfield, 74, of Lucedale, March 23, 1999, at 11 a.m. from Riemann Funeral Home Chapel in Gulfport.
A retired employee from Keesler Air Force Bast 3380th CES/DEHH Military Family Housing, she died March 18.
Survivors include her husband, Howard Burchfield; two sons, Steve Burchfield and Tommy Burchfield; a daughter-in-law, Rachel Burchfield and three grandchildren, Andrew, Peter and Abby.
Also surviving are four brothers, Jimmy Davis and Carlie Davis, both of Pine Bluff, AR., Rev. J. B. Davis of Lucedlae and Rev. Richard Davis of Agricola and two sisters, Ida Belle Buckhalter of Mobile, AL., and Pauline
Harris of Pasadena, TX.
Interment was held at Southern Memorial Park in Biloxi with Pastor Don Caywood of Odessa, TX, Rev. Tommy Burchfield of Columbus,TX., Rev. J. B. Davis, of Lucedale, Rev. Richard Davis of Agricola, Pastor Eddie Trice of Levelland, TX and Pastor Del Way of Kerrville, TX. officiating the services.

Funeral: Memorial service at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Riemann Memorial Funeral Home Chapel on Beauvoir Road in Biloxi.
BILOXI - Mrs. Lou Ella D. Burchfield, 74, died peacefully in her sleep March 18, 1999. She and Howard, her beloved husband of 50 years, owned and operated Burchfield's Flowers from 1955 to 1978.
In April of 1992, she retired from Keesler Air Force Base 3380th CES/DEHH Military Family Housing after working as the Housing Management Assistant.
She is survived by her husband, Howard; two sons, Steve and Tommy; daughter-in-law, Rachel; and three grandchildren, Andrew, Peter, and Abby.
She will be greatly missed by four brothers and two sisters, Jimmy Davis of Pine Bluff, Arkansas; Rev. J.B. Davis of Lucedale, Mississippi; Carlie Davis of Pine Bluff, Arkansas; Rev. Richard Davis of Agricola, Mississippi; Ida Belle Buckhalter of Mobile, Alabama; and Pauline Harris of Pasadena, Texas.
Visitation for friends will be Monday, March 22, 1999, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Riemann Memorial Funeral Home, 274 Beauvoir Road in Biloxi, Mississippi.
A memorial service will be held Tuesday, March 23, 1999, at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel, followed by burial in Southern Memorial park in Biloxi. Pastor Don Caywood of Odessa, Texas, will be officiating the memorial service along with Rev. Tommy Burchfield of Columbus, Texas; Rev. J.B. David of Lucedale, Mississippi; Rev. Richard Davis of Agricola, Mississippi; Pastor Eddie Trice of Levelland, Texas; and Pastor Del Way of Kerrville, Texas.
Lou Ella will most be remembered for her great devotion to God and was greatly loved as a Sunday School teacher. Her endless love for her family will remain a constant source of strength.

She was former owner/operator of Buntyn Monument Co.in Kreole, MS. Mrs. Buntyn was a member of the Evangel Temple Ministries and a life long resident of Jackson County, MS. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lee Roy and Etta Goff.
Survivors include her husband, Charles Gerald Buntyn, Kreole, MS.; daughters and sons-in-law, Barbara & Joe Boughton, Long Beach, MS.; Abby & Mike Zebrack, Lucedale, MS.; Lynda & Buck Canfield, Moss Point, MS.; son and daughter-in-law, Gerald & Diane Buntyn, Dothan, AL.; brother and sister-in-law, R. J. & June Goff, Jacksonville, FL.; seven grandchildren; and other relatives.
Friends may call between 6:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 23, 1997 at Holder-Wells in Moss Point.
Funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m., Wednesday, December 24, 1997 from the Evangel Temple Ministries Church in Moss Point, MS. with the Rev. Don Edeker officiating. Friends may call one hour before service at the church.
Interment will be in Griffin Cemetery, Moss Point, MS.

She is survived by six daughters, Patricia Watson, Sheila Fay Collins, Rebecca Collins, Joy Jones, Polly Hennis and Mona Loper; four sons, Devone Pierce of Texas, Joe Pierce of Pennsylvania,Quinn Nobles and Jody Fountain, both of Lucedale and a brother, A. D. McRae and two sisters, Lucenda Holliman and Heathie Davis.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Oscar L. Pierce.
Interment was held at New Antioch Full Gospel Cemetery with Bro.Billy Evans, Bro. J. B. Davis, and Bro. Elmer Dearman officiating

He is survived by two mothers, Pat Watson and Joy Jones; three sisters, Mona Loper, Michelle Jones and Jessica Jones, all of Lucedale and nine brothers, Wiley Bullock, Jr., Jody Fountain, James Bullock, John Jones, James Jones, Glen Jones, Christopher Bullock and Timmy Watson, all of Lucedale and Vic Bullock of Brookhaven.
Interment was held at New Antioch Full Gospel Church Cemetery with J. B. Davis officiating the services.
Pallbearers were Roy Snelgrove, Jr., Ricky Havard, Jr., Wesley Havard, Jr., Matt Havard, Linwood Holliman and Harry Harrison.
