Obit: Funeral services were held for Sammy Joseph Labit, 46, of Lucedale, January 9, 2007, at 11 a.m. at Crossroads United Methodist Church.
Interment followed in the Crossroads Church Cemetery with Rev. Jack Wooten officiating the services.
Labit was a chief diesel engineer and a member of the Methodist faith. He died January 5, 2007.
He is survived by his wife, Marie Nazare Labit of Lucedale; daughter, Monica Labit of Lucedale; step daughter, Dana Ivey of Lucedale; step son, Junior Albuquerque of Lucedale; father, Ralph Labit of Houma, LA.; step mother Diane Labit of Houma, LA.; mother, Carolyn Lakey of Lucedale; step father, Jerry Lakey of Lucedale; two sisters, Cindy Johnson of Hurley and Donna North of Atlanta, GA.; four brothers, Michael Labit and James A. Clark, both of Lucedale, Paul Labit and Timmy Labit, both of Houma, LA; and a step grandfather, John C. Lakey of Lucedale.

Obit: Mrs. Linda Lachaussee, 58, of Lucedale left peacefully from the arms of her family to the arms of our Father in Heaven on Sunday, May 27, 2007, at her home.
Visitation was Wednesday, May 30, from 11:30 a.m.- 1:30 p.m. at O'Bryant-O'Keefe Funeral Home in Pascagoula. Mass followed at 2:00 p.m. at St. Joseph's Catholic church in Moss Point with Father Mike Austin serving as the celebrant.
Interment was at Serene Memorial Gardens in Escatawpa.
Mrs. Lachaussee was born July 26, 1948 in Union, Miss., to the late Thomas Loil and Cordelia Ann Sherrod. She was a prior member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Pascagoula and St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Moss Point and was currently a member of St. Lucy Catholic Church in Lucedale. she had two priorities, her faith and her family. She lived what she believed an dheld to that faith till the end of a courageous battle with cancer. She radiated the room with her smile and encouraged those around her through her pain.
She is survived by her husband of 38 years, Mike Lachaussee of Lucedale; two sons, Jeremy M. (Cathy) Lauchaussee of Ruston, La., and Mark J. Lauchaussee of Lucedale; one daughter, Laurie Ann (Christopher) Carmichael of Slidell, La.; two brothers, Jerry (Ann) Sherrod of Magnolia and Tmmy (Sharon) Sherrod of Lucedale and a host of friends from Pascagoula High School who were faithful throughout her illness.
Pallbearers were Paul Sherrod, Michael Sherrod, Sammy Sherrod, Shane Shepherd, Micah Shepherd and Bernie Neumaster. Honorary pallbearers were Mark Velazquez, David Derbyshire and Ken Barnett.
O'Bryant-O'Keefe Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Obit: ESCATAWPA --- Georgia Oliver Ladner, 92, died Friday, June 21, 2002.
Mrs. Ladner was a teacher in the Moss Point and Pascagoula school systems for 37 years.
She was preceded in death by her father, Judge Dubose; mother, Ally Dubose; seven brothers, Jim, Walter, Deb, Gene, Bartly, Vadin and Mars; four sisters, Neva, Hattie, Hazel and Grace; husbands, Lloyd V. Oliver Sr. and and Curtis M. "Red" Ladner.
Survivors include her son, Lloyd V. Oliver Jr. of Escatawpa; and two grandchildren.
Visitation will be Monday night from 6-9 at the Jackson County Funeral Service in Escatawpa. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 25, 2002, at Escatawpa Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Macpelah Cemetery.

A U.S. Army veteran, shipfitter at Ingalls Shipbuilders and a member of the Church of God faith, he died June 20.
He is survived by his wife Eloise LaFargue; sons joseph Andrew LaFargue of Lucedale and Benjamin Robert LaFargue of Mobile, Ala.; daughters Betty Dawn Eubanks and Loretta Naomi (Chris) McKissick, both of Lucedale; grandchildren Anna Christian Stevison, Kendra Eloise Stevison, Caitlin Jade McKissick, Lexi Skyeanne McKissick, Chandler Stance McKissick, all of Lucedale; Adrienna Alcee LaFargue of Mobile, Ala.; Lane Christopher Johnson and Lukas Andrew LaFargue, both of Texas; and brother Paul (Shelia) LaFargue of Mobile, Ala.

Obit: Funeral services were held for John Henry Laird, Jr., 88, of Hattiesburg, on Friday, August 27, 2004, at 11 a.m. from the George County Funeral Home Chapel.
Interment followed in the Magnolia Cemetery with Rev. Ken Ribelin of Petal Presbyterian Church officiating the services. Pallbearers were Bill Wilkerson, Connie Wilkerson, Buddy Horn, Shane Hale, Bill Miller and Bobby Coker. Honorary pallbearers were Wallace Laird and Jack Laird.
Memorial services were held on Saturday, August 28, 2004, at 2 p.m. from the Bay Street Presbyterian Church in Hattiesburg with Rev. Brian Davis officiating the services. Friends and relatives shared memories of Mr. Laird in a service of song and thanksgiving.
A native of Bay County, Fla., and formerly of George County, Mr. Laird was a forester in the timber and land industries. He retired from South Mississippi Electric Power Association in 1983. Prior to that, he had held positions at Tri-County Oil, Marathon Southern and International Paper Co. He was an active member of Bay Street Presbyterian Church where he served as Elder and Clerk of Session. At the time of his death, he was Elder Emeritus. He died on August 24, 2004.
He was preceded in death by three sisters, Alma Laird, Ruby Welch and Pearl Miller; three brothers, Wallace Laird, Angus Laird ad Roy Laird; a son-in-law, Vince J. Martinis; and his parents, Mr. and Mrs. John H. Laird, Sr.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Clothilde Kinch Laird of Hattiesburg; a son, John Henry (Susan) Laird, III of Mission Viejo, Calif.; a daughter, Mary Clo Laird Martinis of Bellingham, Wash.; two grandchildren, Erin (Rob) Rector and Casie Laird; a great grandchild, Ayden Nicolas Rector, all of Atlanta, GA.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Palmer Home for Children, P.O. Box 746, Columbus, MS. 39703-9983.

A World War II Army veteran, a carpenter at Ingalls Shipbuilders and a member of the Church of Christ faith, he died February 5.
He is survived by his sons John (Benita) Lakey of Pascagoula and Jerry (Carolyn) Lakey of Lucedale; six grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife Lillie Lakey and Grandsons David Lakey and Sammy Labit.
