George Roby Edwards Dead

George Roby Edwards, father of state treasurer died here at 7:30 tonight, aged sixty six.  He was born in Stewart County, GA, September 14, 1844 and moved with his parents to Leake County, Mississippi when a child.

Wiley S. Mabry Dead

Another old soldier fought his last fight last night with grim death.  Comrade Wiley S. Mabry was born in Leake County, Mississippi and was 72 years old.  He served in the 33rd Regiment, Mississippi infantry, during the war.  He was the father of nine children, Mrs. J.M. Tatum, Mrs. R.T. Rook and Mrs. T.M. Middleton survive him.  Mrs. T.M. Tatum and Mrs. R.T. Rook arrived her at 12 o’clock last night but too late to see their father alive.  His remains will be shipped to Taylor, Mississippi for interment.

Died at Carthage, Leake County, March 7, 1875 Mr. Gree Allen, aged 76 years.

October 9, 1875
Died in Carthage Sept. 26, 1875 Charles V. Taylor aged about 27 years.

Died in Leake County Sept. 18, 1875 L.D. Williams, an old citizen and an ex-sherrif.

Died in Carthage, Leake County, Sept. 22, 1875 Mrs. Reid, the mother of Raymond Reid, aged 85 years.

Died at his residence in Carthage, Leake County, Miss., March 21, 1872 Manning H. Mann in the 51st year of his age.  The deceased was a native of Alabama and was married to Miss M.T. Mann, Dec. 23, 1843.  In 1848 he moved to this state and settled in Leake County.  He leaves an aged mother, wife and several children.

Departed from this life on the morning of the 19th, Thomas W. Harris aged 1 year and 5 months.

January 29, 1873
Died on January 1st, Matthew Simpson, an old citizen of Leake County, aged 59 years.
Died on the 17th of January, of pneumonia, E.C. Barnes, aged 61, long resident of this county.
Died in this place on the 28th of pneumonia, Perry Gill, about 22 years of age.

Feb. 4, 1874
Died in this county on the 26th ult.,of typhoid pneumonia, John T. Boyd, aged 24 years, 3 months and 28 days.
