POPLARVILLE, Miss --  Miss Pearl McCoy entertained at a charming party Christmas eve.  Those present were: Misses Ina May Newton, Ella Rawls, Myrtle Simons, Margaret McCants, Mayme Clarke, Esther Carver; Messrs. Orville Carver, Lavet Carver, Inman Rawls, Howard Triplet, Ennis Ewing, Gordon Newton, Lester Newton,.  Chocolates and cake were served.     POPLARVILLE, Miss., Jan 4 - On the last night of the old year Mr. and Mrs. O. B. Cagle opened their suburban home to their young friends at a leap year dance.  The rooms were tastefully decorated and dancing to the exquisite music of a string band was indulged in until the bells rang in the New Year.  Those dancing were; Misses Bessie, Irene, and Lena Vance, Bessie Scarborough, Bessie and Katie Clark, Josephine Newton, Mary Skain Ward, Lora Ballad, Eloise Talley, of Bogalusa, and Frances Pettibone, of Orvisburg, and Messrs. Gordon Newton, Gartrell Gridley, Jordan Guy Scarborough, Orr, Smith Jim Eiland, Lassiter, N. C. Brown, Will and Rob Batty, Jim Clapper, G. E. Bishop, and Jones; Mr. and Mrs. H. B. Moore, Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Batty, Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Prentice, and Mrs. J. B. Newton.  At a late hour refreshments were served.
