JULIAN FAMILY
The Charleston (Mississippi) Tallahatchian, of the 6th instant, says that a very melancholy rumor has reached that
place, to the effect the Rev. J. A. Julian, with his entire family, were drowned by the high waters of the Mississippi
several days since. The report is that a break occurred in the levee near his residence which swept them all away.
Mr. Julian's family consisted of himself, wife, three children, and Miss Maria Robson - his wife's sister. The
family was well known and very highly esteemed in that county, and their destruction, if it proves true, will be
a heavy bereavement to many hearts in that section. We hope the rumor may yet prove unfounded.
