Know all men by these presents, That we,
Levi Stephens and Alexander Covington, of the County of Warren and State of Mississippi, are held and firmly bound unto Benjamin Springer Esq., Judge of the Probate Court of Warren County, and his successors in office, in the penal sum of Five Hundred dollars, lawful money, the payments of which well and truly to be made, we bind ourselves, our heirs, executors and administors, jointly and severally, firmly by these present..
Sealed with ours,and dated this 28th day of November 1839.

THE CONDITION OF THE ABOVE OBLIGATION IS SUCH, That if the said Levi Stephens administrator of the goods, chattels and credits of Henry Stephens deceased, do make a true and perfect inventory of all and singular the goods, chattels and credits of the said deceased, which have or shall come into the hands, possession or knowledge of said administrator or into the hands or possession of any other person or persons for him and the same so made do exhibit into the Probate Court of said County, when he shall be thereunto required by the said Court; and such goods, chattels and credits, do well and truly administer according to law; and further do make a just and true and just account of his actings and doings therein, when thereto require by the said Court; and all the rest of the said goods; chattels and credits, which shall be found remaining upon the account of the said administration, the same being first examined and allowing by the said Court, shall deliver and pay unto such person respectively as are entitled to the same by law; and if it shall hereafter appear that any last Will Testament was made by the said deceased, and the same be proved in Court, and the Executor or Executors obtain Letters Testamentary, and the said Administrator do in such case, being required, render and deliver up his Letters of Administration ___ then this Obligation to be null and void; otherwise to remain in full force and virtue.

However that all the - - - - that has come to his possession belong to said Estate is one note against Eli Stephens for the sum of two hundred and ninty three 28/100 Dollars which debt he c------- good. All of which he respectfully repersents & c Levi Stephens
