The friends of both parties to the matrimonial transaction assembled to witness the marriage of Mr. George Shoemaker, a well to do citizen of Clinton county, and Mrs. Mary E. Page, which took place at the residence of the bride in this city, on Thursday evening December 21, 1871. The ceremony was performed in am impressive manner by Rev. Charles Balson, after which the guests of the happy couple proceeded to celebrate the nuptials in an evening of social enjoyment. The bride is a long time resident of Savannah, and has many friends here who will extend most hearty gratulations upon the happy event which transpired on the 21st ult. The happy couple will please accept the thanks of the Republican staff office for that excellent bridal cake.

Wade - Somerville
Savannah, Mo., April 7. – John F. Wade, Prosecuting Attorney of this county, and Miss Mary Gabella Somerville were married here this afternoon. They left on the evening train for Louisville and other Eastern cities.
