Former Audrain Woman died in Hallsville
 
Mrs. Susan Shock, 81 years old, formerly of Audrain County, died in Hallsville at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Ida Loren, Sunday Monday at 11 o'clock.
Mrs. Shock had been in ill health for the past year but had been confined to her bed only two months.
 
She was born in Kentucky in 1837 and moved to Audrain with her mother when a child and settled on a farm near Cant.
She was married to Tom Shock and seven children were born into this union of which five are living.
After her husband's death about ten years ago she moved to Hallsville and made her home with her daughter the remainder of her life.
 
She had been a member of the Christian church since childhood and was known to her many friends as a fine Christian character.
During the time she lived in Audrain county she made a large coterie of friends who will be grieved to know of her death.
 
She is survived by the following children: Mrs. Nannie King of Nevada, MO; Mrs. Louen Shock of near Nevada Mo;
Mrs. Ida Loren of Hallsville; Marlow Shock, southwest of Mexico and Granville Shock of Hallsville.

Services for Marlow Shock held Sunday
 
Funeral services were conducted at 2:30 o'clock Sunday afternoon at the McPheeters Brother's funeral chapel for Marlow Shock, life-long resident of Audrain county,
who died at 3 o'clock Saturday morning at his home, 420 West Love street. He was 61 years old.
 
Mr. Shock was born June 7, 1880, on a farm northwest of here, the son of Thomas and Susan Ann Shock.
He was married to Miss Buford Woolery Oct. 23, 1901, and the couple continued farming until ten years ago when they moved to Mexico. He was proprietor of the North Side Cafe.
 
Besides his widow, he is survived by a brother, G. L. Shock; a sister, Mrs. W. J. Loren, both of Hallsville; and a host of other relatives and friends who join the Intelligencer in Extending sympathy.
 
The Rev. Lewis McAdow, pastor of the First Christian Church, was in charge of the services, with burial in Elmwood Cemetery,
Pall bearers were James Sims, James Woolery, Harry Day, Theodore Barnes, Porter Cauthorn and Ralph Dean.
 
Approximately 700 attended the funeral.
