Obit: Mary Lee Fred, 74, of Columbia died Friday, Aug. 3, 1990, at Boone Hospital Center. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Oliver Langmade officiating. Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. tomorrow night at the funeral home. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Mrs. Fred was born July 19, 1916, in Callaway County, to Jasper Lee Rodgers and Elsie Mae Garrett Rodgers. On May 14, 1947, she married Roy Fred in Mexico, Mo., and he preceded her in death in 1987. She was a member of the Christian Church. Survivors include one brother, Robert Rodgers of Mexico, and two sisters, LaVern Coil of Benton City and Dorothy Acuff of Mexico.

Obit: Roy Edward Fred, 77, of Columbia died today, Sept. 28, 1987, at his home. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Memorial Funeral Home with burial in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow at the funeral home. Mr. Fred, who was a butcher for Diggs Meat Packing Company, was born Sept. 26, 1910, in Audrain County to Emmit and Lela Dodson Fred. He married Mary Lee Rodgers May 14, 1947, in Mexico and she survives. A World War II army veteran, he spent three years in Australia. Surviving with his wife are a brother, Glen Fred of Columbia; three sisters, Ruby Reynolds of Columbia and Stella Sexton and Marie Long, both of Mexico. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Arther and Raymond, and a sister, Frances. Memorials are suggested to Cancer Research Center.
