Obit: Mrs. Zina Thompson, 76, of Mexico, Mo., died at 7 p.m. Sunday at the University of Missouri-Columbia Medical Center.  Funeral services were conducted today at 2:30 p.m. at St. Paul's Methodist Church in Mexico by the Rev. C. A. Trotter.  Burial will be in Mexico.  Survivors include one son, James O. Johnson; two stepsons; four stepdaughters; one sister, Nancy Chandler; one aunt, Bertha Anderson; 35 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her husband and two sisters.

THRELKELD, S. D.
Mr. Threlkeld Dead – S. D. Threlkeld, 80 years of age, who had been employed in W. S. Ragsdale’s harness shop for many years, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. C. C. Cardwell, last Friday of pneumonia.
Deceased was a native of Bourbon, Ky., born Feb. 22, 1829. He was twice married, his last wife dying about five years ago. Three daughters survive him – Mrs. C. C. Cardwell, Miss Ella Threlkeld both of this city, and Mrs. R. E. Tolson of Colorado Springs, Colo.
The funeral was held Sunday afternoon at the residence, conducted by Rev. W. M. White. The burial was in Elmwood Cemetery. The pallbearers were Wm. Mason, Thomas Cropper, T. H. Marshall, Willard Potts, Robert Allison and Wm. Vivion.

Tipton, William L died in Martinsburg, Audrain Co., Mo., 10 July 1877, aged 70 yrs 15 days. He was born in Madison co, Ky, 25 June 1807, and was married to his now bereaved companion in Fairfield Dist, S C, 24 Jan 1828. He joined the MECS In Mt Sterling, Ky, in June 1833. They emigrated to Mo and settled in Ralls Co. in the year 1842.."Uncle Billy" and Sister Tipton had come down to visit their dau and son-in-law, Mr. A. H. Fike, at Martinsburg, where the sad occurrence happened...The funeral obsequies were observed with Masonic honors. At Cuivre Church a funeral discourse was delivered. May God comfort the widow, the daus, son, bros & sisters who now mourn. - Kay

Obit: Melba M. Turley, 83, of Mexico, died at 12:06 a.m. Friday, July 15, 2005 at Audrain Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Arnold Funeral Home with the Rev. Terry Mackey officiating. Burial will be in East Lawn Memorial Park. Visitation is from noon until service time on Saturday at the funeral home. Mrs. Turley was born April 6, 1922 in Burlingame, Kan., the daughter of Ora and Mabel (Mae) Beckley. She married Robert Homer Turley on Feb. 6, 1948. He preceded her in death on April 15, 1998. Mrs. Turley farmed with her husband in the Trenton area and also owned restaurants in Trenton and Gilman City areas. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Mexico and had belonged to Eastern Star. Survivors include two daughters, Robin Turley, Jefferson City and Sharon Wathen, Mexico; and one grandson, Skyler Wathen, Mexico
