Miss Stella Fewsmith, 93, of 210 S. 6th Street, died unexpectedly at her home Friday night. (Her death date was March 31, 1967.)
She was born March 1, 1874 in Rock Falls, Illinois to Howard and Mary (Preston) Fewsmith. , and during her childhood lived in Guthrie, Missouri,
where her father was a miller. Upon attending school in Columbia, she was graduated from a nursing school in Chicago, Ill., and later became
head nurse at Phipp’s Tubercular Sanitorium in Denver, Colorado.

Miss Fewsmith lived in Columbia since 1942 when her sister, Miss Joy Fewsmith, a teacher in the Columbia schools for 50 years, died here. Several cousins survive including Mrs. Howard B. Lang Sr., of 308 W. Broadway.

Services will be at 3:30 p.m. Monday at Parker’s Chapel with Rev. John S. McMullen officiating and burial in Columbia Cemetery following.
Pallbearers will be Howard B. Lang, Jr., Arthur P. Lang, David Lang, James Westerfield, William L. Capers, and Clay Wayland.
Friends may call at Parker’s Chapel after noon today.
