Maj. John L. Bittinger has purchased all the
stock of the St. Joseph Herald and assumed editorial charge of the paper.
he is a fine newspaper man and no doubt will greatly improve the Herald,
making it what it should be to represent a growing and prosperous city

Information wanted- Samuel Rupe left Fort Smith and arrived
at Cairo Feb. 13th last. He was at that time sick, and by some
pronounced insane. Since then his friends have heard nothing from
him. Any information concerning him would be thankfully received by
his mother Mary Rupek, or his brother Luke Rupe of this City.
