Barbara Carol (Power) Hart
Barbara Carol (Power) Hart, beloved mother, sister and grandmother, 66, St. Joseph, Mo., passed away Friday, Nov. 25, 2011, at Heartland Regional Medical Center surrounded by her family. She was born Sept. 4, 1945, to Edward and Gretchen Maxine (Landers) Power in St. Joseph, Mo.

She was married to Phillip Jerome Hart for 18 years. She lived and worked in Jacksonville for 34 years. After receiving her Registered Nursing Degree, she was employed as a pediatric nurse for Passavant Area Hospital and a nurse for School District 117 in Jacksonville for many years. She had returned to St. Joseph three years ago. Barbara was a member of Our Saviour Catholic Church in Jacksonville. She was a friend to everyone she met. She was preceded in death by her parents; a grandchild, Ryan; and numberous aunts, uncles and cousins. She will be dearly missed by her family.

Survivors include a sister, Pam Power of St. Joseph, Mo.; son, Douglas Edward Hart (Bernadette) of Jacksonville; daughter, Andrea Gale Hart Carlson (Keith) of Oak Brook; daughter, Tracey Ellen Hart (David) of Jacksonville; son, Nathan Michael Hart (Joanne) of Jacksonville; 11 grandchildren, Emily, Gretchen, Chloe, Jacob, Alexander, Elizabeth, Ginger, Morgan, Evan, Andrew and Layla. Graveside services will be held 9 a.m. Monday at Memorial Park Cemetery in St. Joseph, Mo. The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Sunday at Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory in St. Joseph, Mo., where friends may call after 5 p.m. Sunday. The family suggests memorial gifts to Toy Room at Passavant Area Hospital in Jacksonville.

Hughes, Mary Elizabeth Fitzwater
Mrs. Mary E. Hughes, 68 years old and a widow, died at 4:20 o'clock this morning at the home of her daughter, Mrs. George A. Engler, 2014 South Fourth street.  Four other daughters survive her, Mrs. Edward Keating, St. Mary's Kan; Mrs. Georgia Israel, Wathena, Kan; Mrs. Owen O'Neal, Kansas City; and Mrs. Mary Holman, St. Joseph.

The Death Roll:  John Hughes, aged 62 years, a farmer in the French Bottoms, died at his home last night at 8 o'clock.  He is survived by this wife.
