Ronald (Ron) L. Williams, 59, of Kingston, MO,
passed away Thursday, January 26, 2006, soon after fighting a 3-year battle with
cancer. Ron was born September 26, 1946, in Elwood, IN.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Polo. Ronald was an active member
of the Boy Scouts of America during his youth and again active with his
grandsons as an adult.
Ronald graduated from Georgetown High School in Georgetown, IL. After high
school, Ronald attended Danville Jr. College in Danville, IL. On February 23,
1980, Ronald married Ruby Vaught and enjoyed 25 years of marriage. Ronald worked
for Berkel & Co. Contractors in Bonner Springs, KS, for 22 years, before
retiring due to health. Ronald enjoyed fishing, small game and mushroom hunting.
He also enjoyed NASCAR racing and bowling. Mr. Williams was preceded in
death by his father, Carl Williams. Survivors include his mother, Elaine
Williams of Georgetown, IL; his wife, Ruby Williams of Kingston, MO; one
daughter, Pamela (Haight) and husband Doug Fletchall of Winston, MO; two sons,
Michael Haight of Morrisville, MO, and John Haight and wife Cynthia of Holt, MO;
two sisters, Barbara and husband Bob Pearman of Georgetown, IL, and Maria Hooker
and husband Bernard of Zidell, IL; six grandchildren, Dustin and Christina
Clark, David, Jordan, and Dakota Haight, and Zavier Jones.
Services are scheduled for 10 a.m., Saturday, January 28, 2006, at First Baptist
Church of Polo. Burial will be at Prairie Ridge Cemetery, Polo.
The Family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m., Friday, at the church. The Family
suggests memorial gifts to the Excelsior Springs Hospice. (Arr. Bailey & Cox
