Madisonville, KY--NED F. ALLISON, infant son of Dean & Frances Keller Allison, was born and died May 4, 1963 at Madisonville.  He was buried in Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Cape Girardeau County under the direction of the Lorberg Funeral Home.

Cape Girardeau, MO--FRED ANCELL died at 4 a.m. Thursday, Dec 29, 1983 at Southeast Missouri Hospital, Cape Girardeau, where he had been a patient since Tuesday.  Ancell was born Dec. 2, 1904 in Commerce, MO.  Arrangements are incomplete at Ford and Sons Funeral Home.

RICHARD R. D. ANDERSON was born December 23, 1952, the son of Brock Anderson.  He died February 2, 1956 and is buried in Memorial Park Cemetery.  Lorberg Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

HARRIET S. ARNOLD was born May 29, 1884, daughter of James and Elizabeth Demman Gunter, and died Feb 2, 1956.  She was buried in St. Mary's Cemetery.  Lorberg Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

BERTHA AUGUSTA ASHBY was born January 31, 1896 in Delta, MO, the daughter of Christian & Minna Velga Bodenstein, and died August 20, 1961 in Delta.  She was the wife of Cecil Ashby.  Burial was in the Zion Lutheran Cemetery under the direction of the Lorberg Funeral Home of Cape Girardeau.

ARTHUR H. ASTHOLZ was born October 4, 1897, the son of H. A. & Annie Maevers Astholz, and died May 24, 1956.  His wife name is Irma.  He was buried in Lorimier Cemetery under the direction of Lorberg Funeral Home.

CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO, April 12--DEAD WOMAN FOUND--A sensation was created here by the finding of a dead body, that of MRS. A. D. BLOMEYER, in her home, following an alleged quarrel with her husband, Dr. Blomeyer and his lapse into unconsciousness.  --Aberdeen American, April 12, 1907.

FRED BRUENING DEAD AT HIGGINSVILLE--Higginsville, Mo., Aug. 31--FRED BRUENING, 69 years old, for forty years a newspaper man in Lafayette County, died at his home here last night.  He was active in publishing a German weekly until it suspended a year ago.  He was born in Cape Girardeau and leaves a son and daughter.  --Kansas City Star (MO), September 1, 1919.

Cape Girardeau, MO--O. W. BURK SERVICES--Last rites for O. W. BURK were conducted this afternoon at the Walther Funeral Home by Rev. C. E. Mount of the First Presbyterian Church.  Interment was in Memorial Park Cemetery.  Mr. Burk, 58 years old, 775 Perry Avenue, a salesman, died Saturday.  Pallbearers were Robert Chappell, H. L. MOREHEAD, KY -- MARIE B. CLINTON, 80, Cape Girardeau, Mo., former cafeteria director and office manager, mother of Bonnie Eaglin of Morehead, died Thursday. DEATH OF JUDGE COOK--A telegraphic dispatch from Cape Girardeau, was received at St. Louis on the 28th ult., announcing the death of JUDGE JOHN D. COOK, in that town.  At the time of his death, Judge Cook was the District Attorney of the United States for the Missouri District, to which office he was appointed by President Taylor.  Judge Cook, was among the oldest lawyers in Missouri.  He was a member of the convention which framed the constitution of that State.  After the adoption of that instrument he was appointed to a seat upon the circuit court bench, in the southern district, and was continue in that office for many years.  He enjoyed the confidence of the bar and of the circuit in which he presided.  He was a sound lawyer and an up-right judge.  Few men have passed from the stage of action leaving a less number of enemies than John D. Cook.  --Times-Picayune (New Orleans, LA), November 6, 1852.

HAAS, 80, of Portland, died Sept 21, 2013 at his home.  He was born Dec 24, 1932 in Cape Girardeau, MO, the son of Harl Henry Haas and Berenice Taylor.  He was a 52 year member of the Oregon State Bar.  Survivors included his wife, Mary Lou; a daughter, Holly and several grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by a daughter, Amy Sandlin.  A private burial took place with River View Cemetery Funeral Home of Portland.  --Submitted by Catherine Allison.

St. Petersburg, FL--EVELYN W. HAFER, 87, of St. Petersburg, died Thursday (March 9, 1995) at home. Born in Pocahontas, Mo., she came here a month ago from St. Louis and was a retired schoolteacher. She was a Lutheran. Survivors include her husband, Clarence E.; a daughter, Mary Jo Porter, St. Petersburg; a sister, Eleanor Schramm, St. Louis; and three grandchildren. Lewis W. HARLAN P. HAGER, 87, died July 25, 2013 in Cape Girardeau.  He was born Jul 27, 1925 in Gordonville, the son of Arthur J. & Clara A. Mary Morton, 57, Succumbs to Attack of Ptomaine Posioning-Funeral Friday Afternoon
Following an illness of only a few days.  Mrs. Mary Morton, a colored woman living with her family on North Henderson avenue, died Tuesday afternoon as a result of an attack of ptomaine poisoning.  The funeral will be held Friday afternoon from the residence on Henderson avenue.  Interment will take place at the Fairmount Cemetery.  A week ago Mrs Morton became ill, but was soon able to leave her bed.  According to relatives she was stricken suddenly during the latter part of the week.  Her illness was contributed to ptomaine poison caused by a piece of fish.  She was 57 years old and wll known among the colored residents of this city.

HENRY ROWAN was a shock to all, he was born Oct 22, 1843 died May 30, 1900, of heart disease.  Mr. Rowan was born in Natchez, Miss., but has lived here for years, ran a barber shop for 35 years, he was also a violinist.  He leaves a widow and six children, all are grown.  The funeral was the largest ever seen in this city, which took place at residence at 3 p.m., under the conduction of Masonic Harmony Lodge No. 40.  --Indianapolis, IN Freeman, June 16, 1900.

Cape Girardeau, Mo--FRANCIS J. SURLET--NO INQUEST CALLED--Coroner J. F. Sigmund said today no inquest will be held in connection with the death at a hospital here Thursday morning of Francis J. Surlet, 26 years old.  Surlet died of injuries received in an automobile accident on Highway 25, a mile south of Jackson Saturday night and the death was accidental, Dr. Sigmund said.  --Southeast Missourian, March 13, 1953.

ROBERT FRED WILLIAMS died Thursday, May 16, 2013.  He was born Sept. 30, 1936 in Cape Girardeau, s/o Fred O. and Anita Robinson Williams.  Survived by wife, Darlene Bechel Williams of Cape Girardeau; five children, Kim Cappetta, Brad Williams, Robin Williams, Chris Williams and Billy Williams; seven grandchildren; a sister, Cathy Zivec of Joliet, IL; and a nephew.  Funeral was 10 a.m. Wednesday with the Rev.
