Shirley Elaine Ackerman, age 80, of
Carrollton, Missouri, passed away Friday, March 10, 2006 at Life Care Center,
Carrollton, Missouri. She was born March 29, 1925 in Kansas City, Missouri, the
daughter of Clare and Dorothy Griffitts McCraw. She graduated from Northeast
High School in Kansas City, Missouri. On October 20, 1945, Shirley married Eldon
Ackerman in Kansas City, Missouri. He preceded her in death on April 6, 2005.
Shirley was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church, Carrollton, Missouri, the
Trotter Hustlers Extension Club and Carroll County Historical Society. She had
been secretary-treasurer for the Carrollton Country Club for fourteen years. Two
sons, Gary Wayne Ackerman, Edgerton, Missouri, Richard L. Ackerman and wife,
Connie, Blue Springs, Missouri, five grandchildren, Trent, Kyle, Brandon, Dallas
and Derick Ackerman and four great grandchildren survive Shirley. Her parents
also preceded her in death. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m., Monday,
March 13, 2006 at Gibson Funeral Home, Carrollton, Missouri, with Pastor Eric
Swyres officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Carrollton, Missouri.
Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until service time on Monday at the funeral

Erma E. Adcock, age 87, of Carrollton, Missouri, passed
away at 4:45p.m. on Friday, April 25, 2008, at the Life Care Center of
Carrollton, Missouri. Erma was born on March 9, 1921 in Elba, Nebraska,
the daughter of Louis and Pauline Jerabek Pasdera. Erma moved to Carrollton,
Missouri in 1939. On September 27, 1942 she was married to Ralph L. Adcock
in Carrollton, Missouri. She retired after 17 years in food service for the
Carrollton School District. She was a member of the United Methodist Church of
Carrollton, Missouri and enjoyed working with the Circuit Rider and Communion
Staff. She was also a member of the Merry Minglers Social Club and the Rebekah
Lodge. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Erma is
survived by her three daughters, Donna Byrne, Columbia, Missouri, Lynda
Brockmeier and her husband, Dan, Carrollton, Missouri, and Peggy Bennett and her
husband, Craig, Kansas City, Missouri; one son, Roger Adcock and his wife,
Wanda, Carrollton, Missouri; one son-in-law, Carroll Brockmeier, Carrollton,
Missouri; two sisters, Margie Weatherby, Carrollton, Missouri and Mary
Beauchamp, Folsom, California; one sister-in-law, Isa Pasdera, Las Vegas,
Nevada; thirteen grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; and many friends
and relatives that she loved dearly. She was preceded in death by her
parents, her husband, Ralph on December 3, 1974, her son, Douglas on September
18, 1979, her daughter, Dee Brockmeier on February 18, 2008, and three brothers,
Edward, Louis, and Robert. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on
Tuesday, April 29, 2008, at the United Methodist Church in Carrollton, Missouri,
with the Reverend Rod McNeall officiating. Burial will follow in the Carroll
Memory Gardens, Carrollton, Missouri. The family suggests contributions to
the United Methodist Church or the Doug Adcock UMKC Pharmacy Scholarship Fund in

Harold Ahnefeld, age 91, of
Carrollton, Missouri, passed away Thursday, June 5, 2008 at Carroll House.
Harold was born December 8, 1916 in the Sugartree area of Carroll County, the
son of Henry and Thelma (Ashby) Ahnefeld. He attended country schools. In
1936 he married Inez Iona Addison in Carroll County, Missouri. She survives at
the home. Harold was a farmer and had served on the Sugartree Road
District Board. He was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church of
Carrollton. Harold is survived by two sons, Gary Cole Ahnefeld, Winnetka,
California; Harold (Bud) Ahnefeld, Jr., Gladstone, Missouri; one sister, Marie
Kelb, Carrollton, Missouri; four grandchildren and four great
grandchildren. His parents, two brothers, Louis Ahnefeld, Charles Lee
Ahnefeld, and one sister, Christine Shields, preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday, June 9, 2008 at Gibson
Funeral Home, Carrollton, Missouri, with Pastor Eric Swyres officiating. Burial
will be in Fairhaven Cemetery, Norborne, Missouri.
James Willard “Bamus” Alexander, age 95, of Carrollton,
Missouri, passed away Monday, December 24, 2007 at Carrollton Life Care
Center.Jim was born February 17, 1912 in Norborne, Missouri, the son of James R.
and Ethel Lenore (Thompson) Alexander. He attended Norborne schools. Jim was
enrolled in the Civilian Conservation Corp on December 11, 1933 at Lake Contrary
in St. Joseph, Missouri, and was discharged on March 31, 1934. He had served in
the United States Army during World War II. Jim was a farmer and had worked at
Moentmann Garage in Norborne and was a Steeple Jack Painter; having painted the
Norborne Lutheran Church steeple and the Norborne water tower. Jim was a member
of the St. Luke A.M.E. Church in Norborne, and was a member of the Prince Hall
Masonic Lodge in Dalton, Missouri. Jim is survived by Mary Ruth Stark,
Carrollton, Missouri and several nieces and nephews.
His parents, one son,
James Duncan Alexander, six brothers and two sisters, preceded him in
death.Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m., Thursday, December 27, 2007 at
St. Luke A.M.E. Church, Norborne, Missouri, with Reverend Valencia Jackson and
Martin Brooke officiating. Burial was in Stemple Cemetery, Norborne,
Missouri.Visitation was held at the church prior to the service on
Thursday. The family suggests contributions be made to the Stemple
Cemetery in memory of Mr. Alexander. They may be left at or mailed to Gibson

Bertha Irene
Oberdahlhoff Allen, age 88, of Bosworth, Missouri, died April 15, 1999,
at the Hedrick Medical Center in Chillicothe, Missouri. She was born
August 30, 1910, in Watongie, Oklahoma, the daughter of Henry Franklin and Cleo
Dale Winchester Oberdahlhoff. She attended Brown Grade School and Bosworth
High School. She worked for the F. M. Stamper Co. and then Banquet Foods
for several years. She was a member of the Wakenda Baptist Church.
On November 30, 1929, she was married to Flloyd Lyzell Allen in Carrollton,
Missouri. He preceded her in death on November 7, 1974. Survivors
include a daughter, Eve Mae Elliott, and husband, Allen, Bosworth, Missouri; a
son, Delford Allen, and wife, Joyce, Riverton, Wyoming; four grandchildren;
eighteen great- grandchildren; and fifteen great-great-grandchildren. She
was preceded in death by four sisters and one brother. Graveside services
will be at 2:00 P.M., Sunday, April 18, 1999, at the Wharton Cemetery,
Bosworth. Visitation will be from 1:00 to 2:00 P.M., Sunday, before
service time at Gibson Funeral Home in Bosworth.

Gary Lee Atterbury Killed In
Accident East of Lexington" Gary, a 17-year-old senior at Carrollton High
School lost his life in an automobile accident Tuesday, December 4, 1962, at
9:45 a.m. on Highway 24, east of Lexington, Mo. The son of Emerald and Juanita
Atterbury, he was born June 27, 1945 in Brookfield, Missouri. Involved in
the accident was a 1960 Chevrolet sedan driven west by Gary Lee Atterbury, 17,
of 203 Martin St, Carrollton, Missouri, and a 1962 truck driven east by Fred
James Bausily, 42, of Marshall. The accident occurred when Bausily fell asleep
at the wheel and veered onto the left side of the road striking the Atterbury
car almost head on. Gary was apparently killed instantly. His body was taken to
Vaughn Walker Funeral Home in Lexington and later transferred to Gibson Funeral
Home in Carrollton. Bausily was not injured. The 1960 Chevrolet sedan was
demolished. There was extensive damage to the Chevrolet truck. He attended
elementary school and his freshman year in the Marshall school system. Three
years ago he moved with his parents to Carrollton. He was traveling to Kansas
City to visit a friend in the hospital when the accident occurred. He was a
member of the Baptist Church having joined the First Baptist Church in Marshall.
Surviving are his parents Mr. and Mrs. Emerald Atterbury and a brother Larry
Dale of the home. Fred Bausily is being held in the Lafayette County jail in
Lexington awaiting charges to be filed. Funeral services for Gary Lee Atterbury
were held Tuesday at 2 o'clock at Gibson Funeral Home conducted by Rev. W.W.
Fountain assisted by A.W. Michael. Burial was in Oak Hill
Cemetery.
