Anna A. Carew
, age 101, of Carrollton, Missouri, died June
3, 1999, at the Carrollton Nursing Center. She was born August 3, 1897, in
the Sugartree area, southeast of Norborne, the daughter of Anthony and Theresa
Schmucki Schreiner. She attended Sugartree Community School. She was
a member of the St. Mary's Catholic Church in Carrollton, the Altar Society and
the Legion of Mary. On April 28, 1926, she was married to Patrick Carew in
the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Norborne. He preceded her in
death. Survivors include two sons, James Carew, Carrollton, and William
Carew, Houston, Texas; and two grandchildren, Kerry and Kevin.. She was
preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters.
Funeral
services will be 10:00 A.M., Monday, June 7, at the St. Mary's Catholic Church
in Carrollton, conducted by Reverend Ken Criqui. Burial will be in St.
Mary's Cemetery, Carrollton. Visitation will be from 7:00 to 7:45 P.M., on
Sunday, at the Gibson Funeral Home in Carrollton. The rosary will begin at
7:45 P.M.
The family suggests contributions to the St. Mary's Catholic
Church or the Carrollton Nursing Center. They may be left at or mailed to

Clifford Carroll, age 97,
of Bosworth, Missouri, died Wednesday, March 22, 2006 at Carroll County Memorial
Hospital. He was born February 25, 1909 in Carroll County, the son of Hugh
Raleigh and Malinda Finley Carroll. He attended Rockford School. He married
Treva N. Parker on December 8, 1927 in Paola, Kansas. She passed away June 5,
1974. He married Velma Minnis in 1976. Mr. Carroll lived his entire life in the
Bosworth Community. He farmed for a time, and then became part owner of Bosworth
Oil Company before retiring. He was an avid waterfowl and quail hunter and
fisherman. Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Bonita and O. L.
Houseworth, Bosworth, Missouri, Betty and Fred O’Dell, Carrollton, Missouri,
four grandsons, six great grandchildren and thirteen great great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, five sisters, Maude, Lena, Kathryn,
Goldie and Denzal, four brothers, Hugh, Joe, Bill and Melvin. Funeral services
will be held at 2:30 p.m., Saturday, March 25, 2006 at Gibson Funeral Home,
Bosworth, Missouri, with Fred Seba officiating. Burial will be in Wharton
Cemetery, Bosworth, Missouri. Visitation will be at 1:30 p.m., prior to the
service at the funeral home. The family suggests contributions be made to

Jerral Cary, age 69, of Brunswick, Missouri, passed away
Friday, march 4, 2005 at the Veterans Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri. He was
born April 29, 1935, in Carrollton, Missouri, the son of Robert and Nannie
Burton Cary. He served four years in the United States Air Force. He
worked for Reisinger Produce Garden in Independence, Missouri and was a forklift
operator for Jesco Lubricant in North Kansas City prior to returning to
Carrollton. Jerry attended Carrollton Schools and attended the Assembly of
God Church at an early age.
He is survived by five sisters and two
brothers-in-law, Aileen McDonald, Independence, Missouri, Velma Elliott,
Excelsior Springs, Missouri, Maxine Byers, Castle Rock, Colorado, Fanchion Bell
and her husband Paul, Carrollton, Missouri, and Beverly Arnold and her husband
Bill, Independence, Missouri; eleven nephews, five nieces and several great
nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers,
Rutherford, Kenneth, Ercel, Charley and Bobby; one sister, Carol, three nephews
and two nieces.
Funeral services will be at 3:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 9,
2005 at Gibson Funeral Home, Carrollton, Missouri, with Reverend Bert Hughes
officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Carrollton, Missouri.
Visitation will be from 1-2:45 p.m., Wednesday, before the service at the
funeral home. The family suggests contributions be made to the American Lung

Patricia Casey, 70, of Kansas City, MO passed away May 7,
2008. She was born in Taney County, MO on April 1, 1938, and lived most of her
life in the Kansas City area. She is preceded in death by a son, Michael Casey.
She leaves behind her husband of 52 years, DD Casey; siblings Dave Call and wife
Naomi, Charlie Call and wife Bonita, Bud Call and wife Wilma, Nancy Newbill and
husband Bob, and Donnie Call and wife Doris; Sons Thomas W. Casey, of Grain
Valley, MO, and Robert Lee Casey and wife Betty of Lee's Summit, MO, many
grandchildren, great grandchildren, as well as many other loving family members.
Patricia worked for Lake City Ammunition Plant for 27 years. She enjoyed travel
and playing horseshoes. She will be remembered with love by all she knew.
Services will be held Friday May 9, 2008 at 7 PM at Missouri Funeral Care, 6113
Blue Ridge Blvd, Raytown, MO 64133, a visitation will precede the service at 6
PM. Interment will be on Saturday May 10, 2008 at Noon in Branson,
MO
Robert R. Chenoweth, age 84, of Carrollton,
Missouri, passed away Thursday, December 20, 2007 at the Carrollton Life Care
Center. Robert was born March 21, 1923 in Carroll County, Missouri.
He was married to his wife, Annie, in Englewood, Colorado. Robert had been a
crane operator in heavy equipment construction. He was a member of the
Carrollton Jehovah’s Witnesses. He was a veteran. Robert is survived by
three children, Evelyn Henderson, Robert N. Chenoweth and Rolland E.
Chenoweth. Robert was preceded in death by his parents and wife.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, December 28, 2007 at Gibson
Funeral Home, Carrollton, Missouri, with Tommy Smith officiating. Burial will be
in Brotherton-Little Adkins Cemetery, Wakenda, Missouri. The body will lie
in state at Gibson Funeral Home from 1-5:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 27,

Patricia Lee Cicio
, 71, of Independence, Missouri, passed
away Saturday, May 24, 2008, at the Research Hospital, Kansas City,
Missouri. Pat was born July 24, 1936 in Norborne, Missouri, the daughter
of Edward F. and Melva Paddock Nichols. She attended Norborne Grade and
High School and college in Atchison, Kansas. On October 16, 1956 she was
married to Joseph Cicio at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Norborne,
Missouri; a marriage that lasted 51 years. Pat was a housewife and
Regional Personel Manager for the May Company, and was employed by Kansas City
Internal Medicine for 17 years. She was a member of the Nativity of St.
Mary Catholic Church in Independence, Missouri. Survivors include her
husband, Joe, of the home; one son and daughter-in-law, Joseph Edward Cicio and
wife, Loretta, Kansas City, Missouri; one daughter and son-in-law, Gina Marie
Wright and husband Stephen, Raytown, Missouri; and one granddaughter, Jennifer
Lee Wright, Raytown, Missouri. Patricia was preceded in death by her
parents. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 28,
2008 at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Carrollton, Missouri with Reverend Ken
Criqui officiating. The family will receive friends from 9:00 – 9:45 a.m.
with the Rosary at 9:45 at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Burial will be

Shirley Ann
Clark, age 72, of Bosworth, Missouri, passed away Saturday, March 22,
2008 at St. Luke’s Hospital, Kansas City, Missouri. Shirley was born September
30, 1935 in Carrollton, Missouri, the daughter of William A. and Edith Marie
(Adkins) Willis. She attended Carrollton schools. On December 12, 1954 she
married Bob Clark in Carrollton, Missouri. He survives at the home. Shirley was
a member of the Carrollton United Methodist Church. She was a loving wife,
mother and grandmother. Shirley is also survived by five children; Donna Marie
Clark, Earl William Clark and wife Cherie, Carl Wayne Clark, Robert Luther
Clark, Shiela Annette Wright and husband Brian, all of Bosworth, Missouri; two
brothers, James Willis, St. Joseph, Missouri, Zeke Willis, Carrollton, Missouri;
three sisters, Martha McBroom, State of Arkansas, Donna Bartlett, Carrollton,
Missouri, Glenda Elliott, Bosworth, Missouri; six grandchildren, and eight great
grandchildren. Her parents, one brother, Billy Eugene Willis, and one sister,
Ruth A. Willis Gastinaeu, preceded her in death. Graveside services will be held
at 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, March 26, 2008 at Wharton Cememtery, Bosworth,
Missouri, with Reverend Bert Hughes officiating. An immediate family only

Norma Jean Clavin, 51, of Kansas City, MO and
formerly of Brunswick, MO died on Monday, February 6, 2006 at the Liberty
Hospital in Liberty, MO. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on
Saturday, February 11, 2006 at the Gibson Funeral Home in Brunswick, MO.
Reverend Lanny Lybarger officiating. Visitation will be from 9:30 – 11:00 A.M.
at the funeral home on Saturday prior to the funeral. Burial will be in the
Hazel Ridge Cemetery at Brunswick, MO. Norma was born on July 9, 1954 at DeWitt,
MO the daughter of William Emmitt and Violet Kaiser Clavin. She graduated from
Brunswick High School in 1972. Norma was a Slot Technician for Harrah’s Casino
at Kansas City, MO. Prior to moving to Kansas City she had lived in Brunswick
and had been employed by Conagra at Marshall, MO and Prenger’s Foods at
Brunswick. Norma was a member of the Brunswick Christian Church. She is survived
by three sisters, Sylvia Clavin of Brookfield, MO, Mary Ballew of Carrollton, MO
and Leola Perkins of Salisbury, MO; two brothers, Don Clavin of Carrollton, MO
and Orville “Bud” Clavin of Huntsville, MO and several nieces and nephews. Norma
was preceded in death by her parents and one infant brother. Pallbearers will be
Chris Scott, Carlos Torres, Marty Kendrick, Steve Hardwick, Travis Renzelman and
Reigge Crose. Memorials may be made to: Hazel Ridge Cemetery or The American
Diabetes Association.
Clarence Costner, age 87, of Norborne,
Missouri, died June 13, 1999, at his home. He was born November 3, 1911,
near Norborne in Carroll County, Missouri, the son of Philip and Mary Melissa
Chrisman Costner. He attended the Costner School and was a lifelong
farmer. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Norborne, where he
had served as a deacon.
On August 21, 1938, he was married to Helen
Lorene Koontz. She survives at the home. Other survivors include
five daughters, Marlyn Martin and Dianne Raw, both of Carrollton; Judy Raw and
Rhonda McNelly, both of Norborne, and Betty Newham, Mesa, Arizona; a sister,
Mabel Braxdale, Carrollton; fourteen grandchildren; and thirteen
grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers,
Floyd and Bernice; and a sister, Viola Rodenberg. Funeral services will be
1:00 P.M., Saturday, June 19, at the First Baptist Church in Norborne.
Burial will be in Fairhaven Cemetery in Norborne. Visitation will be from
7:00 to 9:00 P.M., Friday, at the Gibson Funeral Home in Norborne. The

Mr. Costner.
Walter S. Cox, Jr., age 77, of
Carrollton, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, February 27, 2008 at North Kansas
City Hospital. He was born December 24, 1930 in Clearmont, Missouri, the son of
Walter S., Sr. and Beverley (Dowling) Cox. He graduated from William Jewell
College and Midwestern Baptist Seminary. On October 23, 1954 he married
Norma Rae Salmons in Independence, Missouri. She survives at the home. Walter
was a minister for fifty-three years. He served at the Calvary Baptist Church in
Chillicothe, Missouri; Winigan, Missouri Baptist Church, Santa Fe Trail Baptist
Church in Boonville, Missouri, Hardin First Baptist Church, Wheeling Baptist
Church, Hopkins Baptist Church, Bosworth Baptist Church, Miami Baptist Church,
and retired after fifteen years with the Carrollton First Baptist Church where
he was also a member. Since his retirement he had served for several churches as
an interim and supply minister. Walter had previously served as an Executive
Board Member of the Missouri Baptist Convention. Walter is also survived
by one son, Reverend Chris M. Cox and wife Tammy, Hardin, Missouri; two
grandchildren, David Cox, Hardin, Missouri, and Brooke (Cox) Horton and husband
Trent, Richmond, Missouri. His parents and one granddaughter, Courtney Michelle
Cox, preceded him in death. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m.

Virginia Craig, age 85, of Carrollton, Missouri, passed
away Sunday, February 17, 2008 at Carroll County Memorial Hospital.
Virginia was born August 4, 1922 in Harrison County, Missouri, the daughter of
Virgil and Opal (Shaw) Hamilton. She attended New Hope and Wooderson
schools. On September 1, 1946 she married Clell Craig in Troy, Kansas. He
survives at the home. Virginia was a loving wife and mother. She had
worked for the Starliner Motel. She was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars
Auxiliary in Carrollton, Missouri.
Virginia is also survived by two sons,
Larry Craig, Ridgeway, Missouri, Gerald Craig, Mendon, Missouri, one sister,
Louise Akins, Bethany, Missouri, two grandchildren, one step grandchild, and two
great grandchildren. Her parents and one brother preceded her in death.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, February 21, 2008 at the
Roberson Funeral Home, Bethany, Missouri, with Reverend Bert Hughes officiating.

Mrs.
Mabel Crispin, 86, of Bosworth, died Saturday, April 2, 1988, at the
Grand Cariton Manor Nursing Home in Brunswick, Missouri. Mrs. Crispin was
born Sept. 24, 1901 in Bosworth, the daughter of Joseph and Ida Wagy
Stanley. She was married to Joseph Crispin on Feb 26, 1920. Her
husband preceded her in death on Nov. 30, 1970.
She had lived in Bosworth
most of her life except for a short time in Kansas City where she was employed
by Kline's Department Store. She was a member of the First Christian
Church of Bosworth.Survivors include three sons: Niles Crispin of Shawnee
Mission, Kansas, Billie Crispin of Bosworth, and Gene Crispin of Lexington,
Kentucky.; six grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and several nieces and
nephews. She was also preceded in death by a son, Jackie in 1978.Services
were conducted at 1:30pm Monday at the Gibson-Rice Funeral Home in Bosworth,
with the Rev. Lanny Lybarber officiating. Burial was in Wharton Cemetery,
Bosworth.
Leroy Cribb
, age 69, of Carrollton, Missouri, passed away
Thursday, March 18, 2004 at Carroll County Memorial Hospital, Carrollton,
Missouri. He was born August 7, 1934 in Mercer County, Missouri, the son
of Clarence Dale and Louise McKill Cribb. At the age of six years he came
to Marshall State School in Marshall, Missouri. He was transferred later
to Carrollton State School. In 1972 he was released and lived in different
homes. For the past sixteen years he has made his home at the residence of
Freeda Smart. He worked at Banquet Foods for fifteen years and worked at
the Sheltered Workshop for ten years until he retired in 1996. Leroy was a
member of the Southside Baptist Church in Carrollton. He is survived by one
sister, Annette Mae Cribb; Freeda Smart and her family, Jettie and Jim Clemens,
Johnny Smart and Carolyn Grimes; and numerous other friends.
His
parents and one brother, Clifford Keith Cribb, preceded Leroy in death. Funeral
services will be at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, March 20, 2004 at Gibson Funeral Home,
Carrollton, Missouri with Reverend Lee Borders officiating. Burial will be
in Oak Hill Cemetery, Carrollton, Missouri. Visitation will be from 9:30 to

Jimmy L. Crose, age 81, of Carrollton,
Missouri, passed away Friday, March 21, 2008. Jimmy was born January 21,
1927 in Bosworth, Missouri, the son of Gilbert L. and Edith (Wagy) Crose. He
graduated from Bosworth High School. He was a United States Navy veteran serving
in World War II from 1944-1946. On August 21, 1947 he married Vivian
Elaine Hubbard in Kansas City, Missouri. She survives at the home. Jimmy
was a farmer. He was a member of the Bosworth United Methodist Church,
Rucker-McAllister American Legion Post #7, Brunswick, Missouri, Veterans of
Foreign Wars Pence-Lovell-England Post #1773, and the Bosworth Masonic Lodge
#597 where he was a Past Master. Jimmy is also survived by four children,
Gayle Gregg, Carrollton, Missouri, Dianne Gregg, Oak Grove, Missouri, Gilbert
Crose, DeWitt, Missouri, Patty Campbell, Bosworth, Missouri, two sisters, Judy
Gregg, Carrollton, Missouri, Melissa Kemble, Bosworth, Missouri, two brothers,
Reigge Crose, Bosworth, Missouri, Billy Crose, Bosworth, Missouri, fifteen
grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren. His parents, one brother, Bob
Crose, and one sister, Evelyn Gay Crose, preceded him in death. Funeral
services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, March 24, 2008 at Gibson Funeral

James N. Curtis, 85, of Beaumont, died Saturday, April 12,
2008 at Harbor Hospice House in Beaumont. A native of Wakenda, Missouri and
resident of Beaumont since 1976, Jim was a retired Field Service Engineer with
Electric Machinery Manufacturing, a division of Dresser Rand. He was a United
States Army veteran having served in World War II. Along with being very
talented in his field of expertise with Electric Machinery - Dresser Rand, Jim
was an expert on operation of amateur (ham) radio. He enjoyed traveling all over
the world for his job and spending time with his radio buddies. He was preceded
in death by his parents, Velma (Adkins) and J. Otis Curtis; son, John Curtis;
sister, Docia Curtis; and brother, Sam Curtis. Survivors include his wife of
thirty-one years, Mae Curtis; children, Rick Curtis and wife Marsha of
Lawrenceville, Georgia, Gerald David and wife Bonnie of Fairfax, Virginia, Carl
David and wife Amy of Laguana Niguel, California, Darlene Hart and husband
Albert of Silsbee, and Becky Owens of Northridge, California; sister, Jane
Hartsock and husband Richard of Caplinger Mills, Missouri; twelve grandchildren;
and six great-grandchildren. Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, April
18, 2008 at Trinity United Methodist Church, 3430 Harrison, Beaumont with
Reverend Vickie Peters officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens in
Nederland under the direction of Broussard's, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont.
