Claire Elizabeth "Liz” Hardy Pemberton, age 98, of Mendon, M1ssoui, passed away Thursday, February 23, 2006 at Pershing Hospital, Brookfield, Missouri. She was born December 20, 1907, the daughter of Dr. John Walter and Florence Robinson Hardy. She had one brother, Dr. John Walter Hardy, Joplin, Missouri, born 1905. One sister, Helen Harlan, Clarinda, Iowa, born 1912. All deceased. After graduating from Sumner High School, and attending Christian College, Columbia, Missouri, Liz married Dr. Charles William Pemberton August 30, 1930. He preceded her in death November 30, 1987. She was a housewife and homemaker, a member of the Mendon Methodist Church, PEO Chapter AG and the Tourist Club of Brookfield. She had been a member of the Junior League of Butte, Montana. She is survived by her son, Dr. John Walker Pemberton, Omaha, Nebraska, one granddaughter, Letitia Devlin, Singapore; three grandsons, Jeffrey Walker Pemberton, Denver, Colorado, James Tilford Pemberton, New York, New York, and John Low Pemberton, Washington, D.C., and six great grandchildren.
There will be a private burial. A memorial serv1ce wlll be held at a later date. Memor1als may be made to the Mendon United Methodist Church, the Pershing Hospital, Brookfield, Missouri, or charities of your choice.

Scott Dewayne Potter, age 37, of Sedalia, Missouri, passed away February 7, 2006 in Sedalia, Missouri.
Scott was born September 6, 1968 in Carrollton, Missouri, the son of Robert Lee Hardwick and Patricia Lorene Potter. He received his G.E.D. in Brookfield, Missouri. On October 28, 1996 he married Sonya F. Carroll in Linneus, Missouri. She resides at the home. Scott was employed with Tyson Foods in Sedalia. He was a Methodist. In addition to his wife Sonya, Scott is also survived by five children, Stephanie, Nickie, Ashley, Robert and Chris, his father, Bob Hardwick, Odessa, Missouri, his mother, Pat Standley, Carrollton, Missouri, one brother, Jesse Gant, Richmond, Missouri, his grandfather, Robert Potter, Hale, Missouri, three grandchildren, Jesse Alan, Hayden Alan McCracken and Korbin Michael Swan. One sister, Sheila Dawn Gant and his grandmother, Minnie Potter, preceded him in death. Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m., Saturday, February 11, 2006 at Gibson Funeral Home, Carrollton, Missouri with Reverend Rod McNeall officiating. Burial will be in McCullough Cemetery, Triplett, Missouri. Scott will lie in state at Gibson Funeral Home from 1-5:00 p.m on Friday and from 8:00 a.m. until service time on Saturday. The family suggests contributions be made to the family’s choice in memory of Scott.
