Lewis Massie
We have received the following letter and obituary notice from Henderson Massie, addressed to Davis Macklky. (We will state herein that Davis Mackley died March 19, 1887).  "My father, Lewis Massie, died the 12th inst.  If he had lived until the 17th of December next he would have been 90 years old.  He apparently had no disease.  The cause of his death was old age.  I brought him and mother from Lawrence County Ohio to Carter County Missouri, about eighteen years ago.   They made their home with me continuously until their death.  Mother died twelve years ago last February.  Father had been partially paralyzed for several years before his death, and for some time had been almost helpless.  Please have his obituary printed in the Standard, and request the Ironton Register to copy, as he has a great many relatives living in Lawrence County.  Henderson Massie"
