Anna Miller Yoder
   Anna Miller Yoder, daughter of Joseph and Christina Kauffman Miller, was born August 8, 1870, at Middlebury, LaGrange County, Ind. and passed
away on April 8, 1959, near Garden City, Mo. at the age of 88 years and eight months.  She was sick only a few hours following a heart attack in
the home of her daughter, Mrs. Milton Zimmerman, with whom she was residing.
   In her youth she accepted Christ as her Savior and united with the Sycamore Grove Mennonite church where she was a member at the time of
her death.  She was a faithful servant of her Lord all these years and was much interested in the work of the church and the spiritual welfare
of her family.
   On Jan. 3, 1893, she was united in marriage by Bishop Jacob Kenagy to Joseph K. Yoder of Belleville, Pa.  This union was blessed with six sons
and two daughters.  The family circle was first broken on Sept. 10,1898, when a little son, Ira J., passed away at the age of one year and
four months.  Forty-seven years ago, on March 2, 1912, the father was called away at the age of 48 years, leaving this mother with the sole
responsibility of rearing the large family.
   The surviving members of the family are Elby R., Matilda (Mrs. Milton Zimmerman), Milo D. and Christy P. of Garden City, Oliver B. of Eureka,
Ill., Alpha J. of Goshen, Ind., and Ella (Mrs. Fred Bickel), of Pueblo, Colo.  She also leaves 11 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. 
One granddaughter, Ruby Ann Yoder, preceded her in death.  Surviving also is a sister, Cassie (Mrs. Abe Hostetler) of Middlebury, Ind. 
She is now the only remaining one of the nine children of the Joe Miller family.
   At the age of two, Anna came with her parents from Indiana to Cass County when much of it was still prairie.  They located on a farm three
miles north of Garden City.  It was on this same farm that she was again residing with her daughter and husband when she passed away.
   Anna, as she was known to her friends, was a very active and busy person all of her life.  She received much pleasure in being of service
to her family and friends.  She also enjoyed helping in the work of the sewing circle.  She will be greatly missed in the home, the church, and
