Christian County is a county located in the southwestern
part of the U.S. state of Missouri. Its county seat is Ozark. The county
was organized in 1859 and is named after William Christian, a Kentucky
soldier of the American Revolutionary War.
Christian County is part
of the Springfield, MO Metropolitan Statistical Area. Between 2000 and
2010, it was the fastest growing county in Missouri and one of the fastest
growing in the nation as the county became more suburban due to the
booming growth in Springfield
