Name of Deceased: Dorothy Porath Steeps

Obit: Mrs. Wm. A. Steeps, residence North 4th and Elm streets, city, died Monday at 6:20 am, March 28, 1921.  She was preceded in death by her husband and two sons.
Deceased's maiden name was Dorothy Florentine Porath, and she came with her parents to America where they located 12 miles from Oshkosh, Wisconsin.  She was a native of Poland.
Mrs. & Mrs. Steeps came with their family to Henry County, Mo. at the close of the Civil War and settled west of Clinton on what is known as the Steeps farm.  In their reclining years they moved to town and purchased the property where the Clinton hospital is and they sold it because the large, well built house was so suitable for a hospital.  From there they bought the commodious home where the daughters, Misses Minnie and Etta Steeps now reside. 
The only surviving son, John Ernst, arrived Monday a.m. in time to receive his mother's blessing, his wife and adopted son arrived Monday noon.  Their home is at Kingsville, Mo.
Rev. Crow preached the funeral from the residence and the remains were laid beside her husband in Englewood.
