Gorham and Patterson
Hugh Gorham and Oscar Patterson, the crooks who robbed Patrick Griffin of $45, on the southeast corner of Sixth and Market streets, on the 1st of the present month, were examined under a charge of grand larceny before Judge Cady this morning.  As the evidence of their guilt was conclusive, they were committed to jail in default of $800 bail.

Ed Nolan
ex-state treasurer of Missouri, was convicted at Jefferson City and sentenced by the jury to two years imprisonment.  it was his second trial, the first resulting in a a disagreement.  He was charged with embezzling state moneys.  His home was in Jackson county, MO.

Vaughan, Ryan and Raymond
Jefferson City, Cole Mo,
Murderer Granted an Appeal
Jefferson City, Mo., March 12-
Condemened Convicts Harry Vaughan, George Ryan and Ed Raymond, found guilty of having murdered Prison Guard John Clay in the prison mutiny of November 24 last, were sentenced in the circuit court here by Judge Martin to be hanged on April 20.  The judge overruled the motion for a new trial and then passed the death sentence on the defendants.  An appeal was then granted to the supreme court.  The appeal to the supreme court effects a stay of execution until the appeal is passed upon.
