Obit: --Died, Samuel Gelston, second clerk on the steamer David Tatum, died on Sunday evening, 10th inst., on board, on her up trip, below Jefferson City. His remains were brought to Boonville, where his family resides, for interment.

Obit: Boonville - Marvin Greis, 64, Boonville, died Tuesday at Cooper County Hospital. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the United Church of Christ. The Rev. Melvin Lichte will officiate. Burial will be in Walnut Grove Cemetery. Friends may call at Wood Chapel from Wednesday noon until noon Thursday, then at the church. Mr. Greis was born May 13, 1908 in Saline County to Alex and Carolyn Heuman Greis. He married Margaret Warmbrodt March 15, 1934. He made his home here and operated truck lines. He was a member of the United Church of Christ and the IOOF Lodge. Surviving are his widow; a son, Marvin Lee Greis; three grandchildren; a brother, Bill Greis, all Boonville; and three sisters, Miss Lena Greis of New Franklin; Mrs. Louise Carl and Mrs. Charles Cook of Boonville.
