Obit: Mrs. Annie M. Root was born in Pettis County in the Postal Community, February 23, 1892, the daughter of the late Wesley and Deliah Jane Grissom Cornine, and departed this life at Boonville, Missouri, July 6, 1964 having reached the age of 72 years, 4 months, and 13 days.
She lived all of her life in the Nelson and Blackwater communities. She was married at Sedalia, Mo., October 26,1911 to Harry Harrison Root. They were the parents of seven sons. Three sons preceded Mrs. Root in death, Foster Root, Billy Root, and Guy Root.
Mrs Root is survived by her husband, Harry H. Root; four sons, Paul Root Sr.,George Root, Charles Root, all of Blackwater, MO. James Root of Encintias, CA; three brothers, Oscar, Cornine, Wood River, IL,John R. Cornine, Houstonia, MO., Sylvester Cornine, Fulton, MO.; three sisters Mrs. Stella Morris, Mrs. Mary Dial both of Wood River, IL, Mrs. Josie Buckley, Bell Plains, Iowa.
Sixteen grandchildren also survive. Mrs. Root was a homemaker and will always be remembered for her outstanding mint jelly.

Obit: Harry Harrison Root was born in Cooper County Missouri in the Prairie Lick Community, July 29,1892, the son of the late Guy Harrison Root and Catherine (Robbins) Root, and departed this life at Marshall, Missouri, May 5, 1971 at Fitzgibbon Hospital on May 5, 1971, having reached the age of 78 years,9 months and 6 days.
He lived most of his life in the Blackwater Community where, until his retirement from the Missouri Pacific RailRoad as a Section Hand.
He was preceded in death by five sisters, Rosie Estella,Cythia Louise,Ida alvira, Dora Ella, Eva Mae,and one brother Jesses Root of Blackwater, MO.
He was married at Sedalia, Missouri, October 26, 1911 to Miss Anna Margaret (Cornine). They were the parents of seven sons, five of whom are deceased, Foster Root, Billy Root, Guy Root, Charles William Root, and George William Root of Blackwater, MO.
Mr.Root was preceded in death by his wife, Mrs. Anna Margaret (Cornine) Root on July 6,1964.
Surviving are two sons Paul Eldon Root, Sr. of Blackwater, MO and James Root of Encinitas, CA.
Fifteen grandchildren and five great grandchildren also survive.
Mr. Root enjoyed fishing in the Blackwater River after retirement.

Obit: Paul Eldon Root, Sr of Blackwater, Missouri died Friday morning at Fitzgibbon Hospital in Marshall, MO. Funeral services will be at 1:30 p..m. Monday in the Federated Church at Blackwater, Missouri. Burial in the Nelson Cemetery, Nelson, M0.
Visistation will be from seven until eight o'clock Sunday night at the Sweeney-Reser Funeral Home in Marshall, MO.
Mr. Root was born at Blackwater, MO May 14,1921, the son of Harry Harrison Root and Anna Margaret (Cornine) Root, both deceased. He was married May 27,1943, in Boonville, MO to Ruby Lucille (Shackelford) Root, who survives of the home.
He was a member of the Church of Christ at Blackwater and had lived there all of his life. He was retired from National By Products at Blackwater, MO. He was a truck driver. Mr. Root also helped build Interstate 70 during the 1960's and worked on building Missile bases around central Missouri. Mr. Root was a veteran of WWII and aided the Military Police in transporting soldiers in Texas.
Surviving, besides his wife, are seven children Edward Lee & wife Doris, Ronald Bryan, and wife Carolyn, Paul Eldon, and wife Cyndi,Mike Root of the home, Paula Kay and husband Jim, Laura Gayle and husband Steve, Theresa Sue and husband Mike; 12 grandchildren, and a brother James Root of Encinitas, CA.
He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers, and one son Thomas Eldon Root .
Paulbearers will be John Green, Kenneth Arth, Don Noble, Henry Gump,Curt Palmer, and Guy Wilson.
The family suggests memorials to the Heart Fund.

Lloyd L. Rugen, 90, of Prairie Home, died Friday, April 27, 2007 at the Harry S. Truman Veterans Hospital in Columbia. He was born March 22, 1917 in Morgan County, a son of August and Grace Billingsley Rugen.
On March 22, 1947, in Boonville, he was married to Anna Lewis Kueffer, who died earlier. He was a farmer and a deacon of the Wooldridge Baptist Church.
Surviving are a son, Leonard Rugen, of Prairie Home; a sister, Gladys Raines, of Nelson; and three grandsons.
He was also predeceased by three sisters, Ethel Rutherford, Viola Meyer and Mabel Hemsath.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the William Wood Funeral Home in Boonville, with the Rev. Myron Couch officiating. Pallbearers will be Andy Rugen, Ben Rugen, Tim Rugen, Frank Lawrence, Vern Lowery and Eric Hemsath.
Burial will be in the Walnut Grove Cemetery in Boonville. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Friends may call after 3 p.m. Tuesday. The family suggests memorial contributions to the Wooldridge Baptist Church in care of the funeral home.
