Grace Margaret Twenter, 86, of Tipton, died Tuesday, April 27, 1999, at the Missouri Rehabilitation Center, Mount Vernon. She was born Dec. 12, 1912, in Sedalia, a daughter of Herman C. and Lillie Rodekohr Rugen.
On Dec. 28, 1938, she was married to Joseph H. Twenter, who died Oct 30, 1986.
Mrs. Twenter had lived in Florence, Clifton City and Pilot Grove. She was the dietician at Pilot Grove Schools. She lived in Tipton for the past 24 years, where she enjoyed playing cards with family and friends. She also enjoyed doing crossword puzzles.
She was a member of St Andrew's Catholic Church, Tipton, where she was a member of the Altar Society. She also was a member of the Tipton Senior Citizens.
Surviving are a son, Neil Twenter of Lebanon, Mo.; a brother, H.C. Rugen Jr. of California, Mo.; three grandchildren; a great-grandson; and 30 nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Kalo Rugen, Hersel Rugen and Virgil Rugen; and a sister, Nadine Rugen.
Funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m., Friday at St Andrew's Catholic Church. Burial will be in St Joseph Cemetery, Clifton City. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday at Meisenheimer-Griswold Funeral Home, Upton, where the rosary will be recited. The family suggests memorial contributions to St Joseph Cemetery, Clifton City.
