Obit: DIED. Mrs. Nannie Wells, wife of Bar. Wells, esq., and a daughter of J. B. Holland died in Boonville yesterday. She was a most estimable christain lady.
Obit: Margaret Juanita Williams, 52, of Bunceton, died Sunday, July 26,
1992, at Columbia Regional Hospital. Services will be held at 3
p.m. Friday, July 31, at Bethel AME Church in Speed with the Rev.
Dale Hopkins officiating. Visitation will be from noon Thursday,
July 30, to 1:30 p.m. Friday, July 31, at the H. T. May and Son Funeral
Home in Boonville. Burial will be in Speed Cemetery. Mrs.
Williams was born Oct. 27, 1939, to Walter Miles and Nellie Miles in
Bunceton. She attended Bel-air, Sumner and Bunceton schools.
On Jan. 23, 1957, she married Earl Williams, and he survives. She
was a member of Bethel AME Church in Speed, where she served as choir
president, secretary of Banty Shield Missionary Society and was a member
of the Stewardess Board. She had been employed at University
Hospital and Clinics in Columbia for the past 23 years. Surviving
along with her husband are two daughters, Debra Jordon of Columbia and
Viretta McQuitty of Fayette; two sons, Earl Williams Jr., of Bunceton and
Michael Williams of Boonville; two sisters, Arlena Willaims of Kansas City
and Leta Elbert of Kansas City; three brothers, Robert Miles and Lewis
Miles, both of Kansas City, and Eddie Miles of Bunceton; and six
grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her
Obit: DIED---Near French Bar, California, in August last, Col. David Workman, in the 60th year of his age. Col. Workman was one of the earliest settlers of Old Franklin, in Missouri, and afterwards a resident of Booneville. He emigrated with his family to California in the spring of 1854.
