Howard Carl Smith

Howard Carl Smith was born 08 June 1903 Centerville, Turner Co., SD, a son of Peter Smith and Louise Anna Stevens.  He married Vera Barbara Uehling 17 Feb 1928 Brown Co., NE.  She was born 14 Sep 1907 Wood Lake, Cherry Co., NE to John Martin Uehling and Amelia Charlotte Wagner (first cousins). 

 

Howard Carl and Vera Barbara Smith lived in Weatherby, MO.  They were the parents of eight children: Harold Monroe, Raymond Eugene, Darlene Gloria, Doris Gene, Helen Marie,  Ruth Ann, Joyce Virginia and Mary Alice Smith.  Harold Monroe was born 29 Aug 1928 Ainsworth, Brown Co., NE.  He married Marilyn Cleaver of Weatherby, MO; and moved to Kansas City, MO until his death on 11 Feb 1999. Darlene Gloria was born 01 Jan 1932 and died 20 July 1994 in St. Joseph, MO.  She was married to Harry Alvin Bassett who died 17 July 2001 in St. Joseph, MO.  Mary Alice Smith was born 25 Jan 1949 and died 4 hrs later.  The remaining children are still living.
