Accidents

Sam Meek, living eight miles southeast of Maysville, was riding a horse and carrying a plowshare during a recent thunderstorm when a strike of lightning knocked the plowshare to pieces, killed the horse, tore his hat to pieces, burned the hair off his head and stripped the clothing from his body. Meek was not badly hurt, but was considerably agitated.
