Ira E. Rhoades, 54, died Wednesday morning, May 19, in the alley at the rear
of the Farmer's Produce and Grain Co., where he was employed. He apparently
suffered a heart attack. Mr. Rhoades had resided in Kidder about two years,
and formally resided in Gallatin and Maysville, says the St. Joseph Gazette.
He is survived by his mother, Mrs. Grances Rhoades of the home in Kidder;
eight brothers: Urcel Rhoades of Yorba Linda, CA, Max Rhoades of CA, Coda
Rhoades of Placentia, CA, Wayne Rhoades of Arlington, TX, Clifford Rhoades
and F.W. (Bob) Rhoades of Gallatin, Cecil Rhoades and Jack Rhoades of
Cameron, MO; and seven sisters: Mrs. Leeta Phillips and Mrs. Eleanor Perrin
of Yorba Linda, CA, Mrs. Naurene Hill of the State of CA, Mrs Ruth Dyas of
Gallatin, MO, Mrs Jean Smith of Hamilton, MO, Mrs. Viola Mott of Cameron,
MO, and Mrs. Wanda Archer of Kidder, MO, and one niece of the home.
The funeral service was held Saturday at 1:00 PM at the Hope Chapel in
Gallatin, MO. The Farmers Produce and Grain, and other MFA firms were
closed from 1:00 PM to 4:30 PM.
