Charles Herr, the defaulting sheriff of Douglass county, who was captured in Izard county, Ark., has been indicted for embezzlement by the special grand jury at Ava, and still probably be tried at that term of court.

Douglas County Judge Orders Kansas Attorney General to Appear
Topeka—Richard J. Hopkins, Attorney General of Kansas, was cited Monday for contempt of court by Judge C. A. Smart of the Douglas County District Court and ordered to appear for a hearing today. Judge Smart charges Hopkins with failure to obey an order of the court directing him to turn over books and papers seized from the Poehier Mercantile Company.
