The Shirely Cemetery is located on the old Shirley Homestead North of Eagleville, Mo. There were eleven of the Shirley children born to Daniel R. and America (Dale) Shirley.  Of these only Lemuel married and had a family.  Late in life Beuna Vista married Ezekiel Hobbs.  The parents came from their native state of Kentucky in 1850 and settled on a farm a short distance northwest of town.  This farm, entered from the government was one-half section and was one of the best improved in the country.  The Shirley home was noted for its hospitality and the girls were excellent cooks.
