HARRISON COUNTY MISSOURI
Benjamen Salmon Sr. and Catherine Waples were married in 1794 in Lewes Del. They came to Daviess Co. Mo. from Marion Co. Ohio in 1839. All their married children came too. Harrison Co. was formed from Daviess Co. in 1845, thus some of the Salmons were in both counties. Benj. Salmon Sr. was born about 1772 and died about 1846. It is probable that he and Catherine are buried in the Salmon Cemetery just over the Harrison Co. line in Daviess Co. Their children were:
Sarah Salmon, daug. of Benj. Salmon Sr., who married Anthony Plymell, had a daughter, Mary Plymell, who married James Van Meter, Sr., half brother to Ruanna and Lydia Van Meter.
Benjamen Salmon, Sr. was a corporal in the War of 1812. His 6th child, Eli lived in Butler Township, Harrison County. His children were
The 5th child of Eli (6) & Lydia, Geo. W. Salmon, who married Mary A. Watson, had these children:
The 3rd child of Geo. and Mary Salmon, Carrie, had a son Roscoe Salmon, b. 1892, married: Maude Cummings, daughter of Flora Thomas & John H. Cummings. Flora's grandparents were Vincent T. Smith and Sarah E. Wright, early pioneers of Harrison County.
