Alma Marie  Jennings, oldest daugher of Loyd and Clara (Smith)
Fish of near Mt. Moriah, MO.  was born July 2, 1925 and died Aug. 29, 1946 at the tender age of 21 years, one month and 27 days.

She  was united  to Paul Kenneth Jennings of Bethany, MO. on June 9,1944. To this union one son was stillborn on August 29, 1946, as her life slowly ebbed away. It was named Paul Kenneth, Jr.

Alma became a member of the Mt.Olive Christian church, where she  was baptized August 24, 1941, by the  Rev. O.D. Hedges, and where she remained a faithful member until the end.  All  that knew Alma loved her.  She had a sweet personality and always wore a beautiful smile for everybody. She made friends wherever she went,  and always kept them.  She taught school for two terms while her husband was in the Navy. The children all loved her.  Her great joy in life was buying little gifts and helping others to make them happy.

She leaves to mourn her passing, her devoted husband, Paul;  her parents Mrms.Loyd Fish; three sister and two brothers.  Clella Mae, Virgie, Pauline and Truman, of the home; and Alva, in the South Pacific in the army; grandparents, Mrms. Henry Smith of Ridgeway, Mo. , Mrs. Sam Fish of Eagleville, Mo. Grandpa Fish whom Alma loved so dearly preceded her in death June 1, 1945.

A double  funeral service was held Sunday, Sept. 1, at the Christian church in Bethany, by the Rev. O.D. Hedges, assisted by the Rev. Huell Warren, pastor.  The church was filled with relatives and friends, and the casket that held the mother and baby was banked with beautful flowers.  Clark Foutch of Ridgeway sang "Does Jesus Care?" and "Going Down the Valley."  The flower girls were schoolmates of Alma's.  Pall bearers wer Dollie, Darrel, and LaVern Jennings, and Wilbur, Clayton and Raymond Martin.  She was laid to rest in Miriam cemetery.
