Joshua Ladue, the Well-known Henry County Democrat

Colonel Joshua Ladue, a prominent member of the Henry County Bar, died in this city last night. He was born at Westfield, N. Y. in 1833, He emigrated to Wisconsin in 1849 and founded the Shebonygan Democrat. In 1863 he declined, the unanimous nomination for Attorney-General of that state on the Democratic ticket Coming to Missouri in 1868 he was attorney for the Missouri, Kansas and Texas Railroad, the building. He served in the Missouri State senate in 1872, later he practiced law in St. Louis and in 1881 was attorney for the Chicago, Milwaukee and S Paul Railway. He served two terms as a Curator of the Missouri University, and at his death was a member of the Board of Regents of the Warrensburg Normal School. He was a life-long Democrat in his convictions and was a prominent condidate for Congress in the Twelfth District a year ago. His knowledge of the affairs of state. was the pride of his fellow-townsmen. The Circuit Court passed resolutions of respect and will attend the funeral tomorrow in a body.
