Obit:    George Brakebill, Jr., 74, Pittsburg, Mo., died May 24, 2008, in St. John's Regional Medical Center, Springfield.
   He was born June 7, 1933, in Celt, Mo., to George and Freeda Bradshaw Brakebill.  He was a US Army veteran and a menber of the Elks Lodge of Lebanon, Mo.
He married Barbara A. Daniels in 1955.
   Survivors include three children, James A Brakebill, Twenty-nine Palms, California, Sherry Brakebill, Whittier, California, and Barry Brakebill, La
Habra California; a sister, Ninie Curry, El Dorado Springs; two brothers, Paul Brakebill and Avery Brakebill, both of Pittsburg; four grandchildren: and two
great-grand-children.
   Memorial services will be Thursday, May 29, at 10:30 am in Pitts Chapel, Bolivar, with Pastor Gary Parsons officiating.  A visitation will be held Thursday one hour before services in the
funeral home.  Interment will take place in Rose Hills Memorial Gardens, Whittier, California, at a later date.  Services are under direction of Pitts Chapel of Greenlawn Funeral Homes, Bolivar.

Obit:    Lawrence William Ethridge, 78, Urbana, Mo., died May 24, 2008, at Cox South Medical Center in Springfield.
   He was born July 13, 1929, in Urbana, Mo., to Elmer Macklin and Bessie Shaw Ethridge.  He grew up in the Urbana area and graduated from Urbana High School. 
He married Gayle Hart in 1948 in Louisburg.  He was a lifelong farmer and a jack-of-all-trades.  He had worked as a mechanic for Raytown schools, truck
driver, for a dairy in California, worked on the St. Lawrence Seaway and other area dams.  He was preceded in death by a son, Douglas Ethridge.
   Survivors include his wife Gayle;  a son, Gordon Ethridge, Urbana;  a daughter, Gayla Obley, Kansas City;  two brothers, Leonard Lee Ethridge,
Raymore, and Kenneth Dean Ethridge, Poteau, Oklanoma;  three grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
   Graveside services were May 27,  at Mission Ridge Cemetery with Rev.  Ken Morris officiating.  Services were under direction of Cantlon Otterness Funeral Home.
