Belle Osborne
Newspaper: The Glasgow Weekly Times, Thursday
Date: September 10, 1857
Submitters Name: Kathy McDaniel

Obit: --In Glasgow, Howard county, Mo., on Friday, September 4, of Cholera Infantum, Belle, aged one year and six months, infant daughter of Horace and Fannie B. Osborne.
The loss of Belle is deeply felt by her devoted parents.  May God, who “Doeth all things well,” cheer and support them in their affliction.
 “God walking over starry spheres,
Did clasp her tiny hand,
And led her, through a fall of tears,
Into the Mystic Land!
Angel of Death! We question not:
Who asks of heaven ‘why does it rain?’
Angel! We bless thee, for thy kiss
Hath hushed the lips of Pain!
No, ‘wherefore?’ or “to what good end?’
Shall out of doubt and anguish creep
Into our thoughts.  We bow our heads:
‘He giveth His beloved sleep!’”     A.
