Brandsville 2000 census, the city had a total population of 174.
Caulfield Is an unincorporated community in western part of the County.
Located on U.S. Highway 160 about 15 miles West of West Plains.
Founded in 1930 and is named after the Missouri governor Henry Stewart Caulfield, who took office in 1929.
Hocomo Unincorporated community that is located about 13 miles southwest of West Plains.
It was founded  in 1931.
Named after the county: HOwell COunty, MO.
Lanton Unincorporated
Located on MO. State HWY 17 between MO State HWY 142 and the Arkansas line.
Founded before 1860.
Named for its founders, Lancaster and Sutton.
Moody An unincorported community in southern part of the County.
Mountain View 2000 census, the city had a total population of 2,430
Peace Valley Small, unincorporated community in the eastern  part of the County. Located about 5 miles East of the Missouri State Highway 17 on Missouri Supplemental Route West. 
It was named for an early settler nicknamed "Grandaddy Peace".
Pomona An unincorporated community midway between Willow Springs and West Plains.
Founded in 1895.
Named for Pomona, the Roman goddess of fruit trees; this area was a major producer of apples. 
Pottersville Unincorporated
Located about 10miles west of West Plains.
Siloam Springs Unincorporated community in the western part of the county.
It is about 2 miles South of Missouri State HWY 14 and 15 miles Northwest of West Plains.
Founded before 1880.
Named after a pool of healing in the Bible. The springs in the community were believed to have medicinal qualities.
South Fork Small and unincorporated.
Located 10miles west of West Plains on U.S. Highway 160.
Named for the South Fork of the Spring River, the location of the town.
It was first named  "Cross Roads".
West Plains County Seat.
Named because it was located in a prairie that was in a westerly direction from the nearest town
