MERIDA ESTHER OLIVER

Funeral services for Merida Esther Oliver, 95, Ballwin, formerly of West Plains, will be 2 PM Wednesday, June 11, 1997 at the Carter Funeral Home Chapel, West Plains, with the Rev. David Warren officiating.
  Mrs. Oliver died 11:10 PM Sunday, June 8, 1997 at her home.  She was born May 28, 1902, the daughter of Norphie Ernest and Martha Bell Johnson Bottom.  On Sept. 22, 1922 at Willow Springs, MO she married William Harry "Bill" Oliver. 
  She was a member of the Eastern Star West Plains Chapter No. 193, the Mizpah Rebekah Lodge No. 77, and the Royal Neighbors.  She also was a member of the First Baptist Church of West Plains.
  Survivors include two sons, Bill Morris Oliver, Effingham, IL and Jerry E. Oliver, Ballwin, MO; two grandchildren, Paul David Oliver, Accokeek, MD. and Mark J. Hahn, Springfield, MO.  two great-grandchildren, Ryan and Alex Oliver of Accokeek, MD.; one brother, Merrill Bottom, Marion, IL, and one sister, Mildred Silvers, Knoxville, TN.
  She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and three brothers, Myron Bottom, Morris Bottom, and Milton Bottom. 
  Visitation will be 1-2 PM Wed. at the funeral home.  Burial will be at Willow Springs Cemetery.

WILLIAM HARRY OLIVER

Funeral services for William Harry "Bill" Oliver, 90, West Plains, MO. will be at 2 PM Tuesday, April 23, 1991 at the Carter Funeral Home Chapel in West Plains with the Rev. J. Gillman McKee officiating.
  Mr. Oliver died at 6:20 PM Sunday, April 21, 1991 at West Vue Nursing Home in West Plains.  He was born Oct. 2, 1900 in Norwood, MO  the son of Zachariah and Della Davis Oliver.
  He was married Sept. 22, 1922 at Willow Springs, MO to Merida Bottom, who survives.  He was a member of the First Baptist Church, the Royal Neighbor's Lodge, and Sheriff's Association.  Mr. Oliver served 45 years in law enforcement with the Howell County Sheriff's Department.
  Survivors include his wife, Merida, West Plains; two sons, Bill M. Oliver and his wife, Pauline, Effingham, IL, and Jerry Oliver, St. Louis, MO.; one foster son, Mark James Hahn, West Plains; one grandson, Paul D. Oliver, St. Charles, MO.; several nieces and nephews.
  He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Mary Corbin, Myrtle McKinney and Mamie Meagher; and two brothers, John and Claude Oliver.
  Burial will be in the Willow Springs Cemetery under the direction of Carter Funeral Home Inc., West Plains.
