Obit: CARTHAGE, Mo. -
Genevieve Martha (Huntley) Ford passed away at her home in Mission, Kan., on Friday, March 21, 2008, after a lengthy illness.
Genevieve was preceded in death by her parents, Ezra and Ellen Huntley, and two brothers, George Huntley and Bill Huntley all of Carthage, Mo.
Genevieve was born Aug. 13, 1921, in Carthage, Mo. She graduated from Carthage High School in 1938 and attended Joiner Business College. She married Earnest Spillman Ford, also of Carthage, on May 5, 1945.
Genevieve is survived by her husband, Earnest, of the home; son, Roger Huntley  Ford, of  Shawnee Mission, Kan.; a daughter, Cynthia Louise Koob and husband Thomas of Shell Knob, Mo.;  daughter Christina Ford Coleman and husband Edwin of Lenexa, Kan.; and son Richard Spillman Ford
of Belleview, Neb.  Genevieve also leaves behind a sister, Ellen Gerhardt, 11 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. 
Genevieve worked for the government most of her life including positions as an  executive secretary with the U.S. Secretary of State office and with the U.S. Weather Service. She also worked for United Telecom and the Johnson County Department of Aging. She was a member of Saint Michaels and All Angels Episcopal Church and donated time to The Daughters of the King.  She volunteered at the  National Archives in Kansas City, Mo.
Genevieve loved life and working in her yard and tending her flowers. She was lovingly dedicated to her family and found positive attributes in all her
relatives. She enjoyed family history and researching genealogy. At age 80, Genevieve took a hot air balloon ride and was attending St. Mary's College to complete her degree. She will be missed by all her family and friends.
A graveside service at Park Cemetery in Carthage, Mo., will be held Tuesday, March 25, at 1:30 pm. If desired, memorial donations may be made to Kansas City Hospice or the American Red Cross

Obit: CARTHAGE, Mo. - A memorial service for Ethel Grace Freant of Mountain Home, Ark., will be 2 p.m.
Saturday, March 29, 2008, at the First United Methodist Church, Carthage, Mo., with Rev. James Lee officiating.

Mrs. Freant passed away Monday, March 10, in Mountain Home at Hospice House at the age of 97.
She was born Jan. 20, 1911, in Arcadia, Kan., the daughter of Charles E. Grace and Martha Elizabeth (Moore) Grace.
Ethel worked as an accountant for Caterpillar Tractor Co.  She lived in Mountain Home for 38 years, moving from Peoria, Ill. She was a former member of Area Arts Club; belonged to Navistar International, Three River Twirlers Square Dancers, Fun Timers Square Dancers and Serenity Inc.; was a former president for two years of Friends of Hospice; was a volunteer with Hospice and Adult Basic Education Program and was very involved at First Presbyterian Church, Mountain Home, where she was president of the women's group.
Mrs. Freant is survived by a stepdaughter, Betty Ayers (Rick Kretschmar) of Springfield, Mass; three granddaughters; her brother Ray Grace of Carthage, Mo.;  her niece, Sue (Rich) Pape of Wilmington, N.C.; her nephew, Bob Grace of Carthage and her first cousin, Walter Foulk of Arcadia.
She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, four sisters, one stepson and three husbands, Tony Markello, Carl Bliesner and Floyd Freant.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Ozarks or the Family Literacy Council, Carthage, in care of Knell Mortuary, Carthage, Mo
