WILBERT DALE TUCK

Wilbert Dale Tuck, son of Remus Eugene and Laura Westerfield Tuck, was born November 5, 1931, in Sweet Springs, Missouri and departed this life December 19, 2008, in Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of seventy-seven years.

On July 12, 1950, Wilbert was united in marriage with Georgia Dowden. To this union was born four children, all surviving. Georgia preceded him in death on August 11, 2004.

Wilbert made a profession of faith in Christ many years ago and had been attending Dove Bible Church.

He proudly served his country in the United States Army through the Korean War. Wilbert was also employed with Civil Service as a clerk in the Adjutant General’s office. He took great pride in his work and was respected by his employers and co-workers. He retired from his position on April 1, 1988.

Wilbert not only worked for Civil Service, but he was also a farmer in the Laclede County area. He made many friends within the community and treasured the relationships he had with each of them.

Although he was a hard worker, after his retirement, Wilbert had some time to enjoy some of his favorite hobbies. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and researching genealogy. However, he most treasured the time spent and memories made “aggravating” his family. In fact he was known for his two rules; rule number one, “I am always right.” Rule number two, “If I’m wrong, see rule number one.”

Wilbert is survived by two sons, Daniel and his wife Brenda of Lees Summit, MO and Royce Tuck and his wife Lynn of Rockford, MI; two daughters, Karen Caudle and her husband Robert and Debbie Hill and her husband Rick, all of Lebanon; two sisters, Rosemary Mizer of Raytown, MO and Betty Mizer and her husband Charles of Belton, MO; fourteen grandchildren; twenty-five great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; other relatives and many friends.

He was also preceded in death by his parents, and three brothers, Paul Tuck and Phil Melvin and Joseph Tuck who died in infancy.

Wilbert was a loving father, fun-loving grandfather, cherished brother and wonderful friend. His sense of humor and outgoing personality will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
