Sara Logsdon
RUSHVILLE - Sara W. Logsdon, 72, of Canton, Mo., formerly of
Rushville, died at 8 a.m. Friday, March 6, 1998, at her residence.
Born March 10, 1925, in Bainbridge Township, Schuyler County, to Ralph and Mary
Simpson Ward, she married Thomas Campbell.
He preceded her in death. She later married H. Kline Logsdon on Oct. 16, 1976,
in Canton, Mo. He survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Roger Trone of Rushville and Randy
Trone of Columbia; two daughters, Alice Cisna of Gays and Sara Jane Logsdon of
Branson, Mo.; five stepsons, Larry Trone of Rushville, Mike Logsdon of
Jefferson City, Mo., Pat Logsdon of Branson, Steve Logsdon of Lemon
Grove, Calif., and Mark Logsdon of Lemoore, Calif.; five stepdaughters, Barbara
Smith of Rushville, Judith DuBois of Port St. Marie, France,
Karen Meyers of Sharpsburg, Ga., Kelly Logsdon of Alexandria, Va., and Kim
Uhlmeyer of Canton, Mo.; one brother, Lyle Ward of Tempe, Ariz.;
two sisters, Joan Hanning of Rushville and Carole Wells of Roodhouse; several
grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren. Her parents; her
stepmother, Myrtle Ward; one son, Doug Trone; one daughter, Becky Trone; and one
brother preceded her in death.
She was a member of Canton Christian Church, its Christian Women
Fellowship and PEO, Chapter BS, all in Canton, Mo.
She owned and operated the Silver Thimble Store in Rushville for
many years. She also taught quilting classes and designed several quilts
through the Hickory Stick Store in Hannibal, Mo.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Davis Funeral Home in Canton,
Mo., where visitation will be from 4 to 8 tonight. Graveside services
will be at 3:30 p.m. Monday at Rushville City Cemetery. Wood-Roby Funeral Chapel
in Rushville is in charge of local arrangements.
Memorials may be made to her church or to Blessing Foundation for
Hospice.
