Oneta Nelson

Canton, Mo. - Oneta Nelson, 62, of Canton, a retired employee of the Canton Motel, died at 5:02 a.m. Wednesday (March 12, 1980) in the home of her mother, Mrs. Grace Hawkins, in Canton.

Mrs. Nelson was born in Williamstown, Dec. 6, 1917, a daughter of Wylie Edgar and Grace Wood Hawkins. She married Earl Hinton. He preceded her in death. She married George Nelson. He preceded her in death.

Surviving are her mother, three sons, Melvin Earl, and Kenneth Junior Hinton, both of La Grange, and Albert Hinton of La Grange, two daughters, Miss Gladys Hinton of La Belle and Mrs. Kenneth (Marilyn) Sherwood of Canton; three sisters Mrs. Pete (Vivian) Weatherby and Mrs. John Winkler, both of Canton, and Mrs. Nina Hutchesson of La Grange and nine grandchildren. Her father, four brothers, and a sister preceded her in death.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in the Davis Funeral Home, conducted by the Rev. John Giesler. Burial will be in Forest Grove Cemetery.
