Velma B. McIlvoy, 76, of Granite City died at 3:42 pm Wednesday February 12, 1997 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital. She was born April 1, 1920 in Granite City and a lifelong resident. --- Mrs. McIlvoy retired as a clerk from the Granite City Assessor Office. She was a member of Niedringhaus United Methodist Church and the Elketts. Survivors include her husband, Wayne McIlvoy, and one son, Michael McIlvoy of Carmichael, California. She was preceded in death by one son, Gary McIlvoy in 1994; her parents were Clem and Martha (Decker) Raney; and one brother, Lloyd Raney.
