Last Saturday morning the Browning Hotel at Chillicothe was set on fire by incendiaries and partially destroyed. The value of the building was $10,000, insured for one-half of the amount. Adjoining buildings and stocks of goods were injured by water to the amount of several thousand dollars.

Andrew GRIFFIN of Carthage, MO., was badly beaten up by George WEST, a negro of Springfield, MO., because Griffin brushed against him.
