in the state.
Lead mined at the Mine La Motte has been used for the manufacture of bullets for every military action of the
United States from the American Revolution to the Korean Conflict.
The "Trail of Tears" passed thru a corner of Madison County, 1838. One detachment of Cherokee, passed thru
Fredericktown.
