Location and Resources:

 

In the southeastern part of the State, 70 miles south of St. Louis. and traversed by the St. L., I. M. & S. Railroad.

 

About 65 per cent, of the area is timbered with hardwood varieties and some yellow and pitch pine.

 

The minerals found are lead, zinc, nickel, iron, granite, sandstone and limestone.

 

 

Manfactures:

 

Fredericktown has two flouring mills, a large saw and planning mill and ice plant.

 

One large saw mill located at Marquand, and several smaller ones at different points in the county.

 

 

New Enterprises  Desired:

 

Fredericktown could sustain a brick factory and creameries could find desirable locations in the county.
