Mrs. Shirley Alps of Granburg, Texas, arrived Thursday for a visit with her mother, Teddy Morgan, and other relatives and friends.
Darlene Stillions spent last Sunday visiting her sister Eva Jewell Carnell, in Fayetteville, Ark.
Alice Bayley of Gravette, Ark., visited with her grandmother, Leora Armstrong, Sunday.
Teddy Morgan and daughter Shirley Alps of Granburg, Texas, spent from Thursday until Monday with Mr. and Mrs. T.L. Speck of Oswatomie, Kan., and Amy Speck of Overland Park, Kan., and Mrs. Eva Testerman and daughter of Olathe, Kan.
Mr. and Mrs. Loren Lawrence of Rogers, Ark., visited Saturday wit her grandmother, Francis Gardner.

Another Murder – We have before us a letter from W. A. J. Finch, dated Rutledge, Macdonald county, Mo., July 18th, 1853, giving information of the murder of Daniel W. Finch, on the 6th inst., by Hamilton and J. J. Walters. Mr. Finch offers a reward of $100 for the apprehension of the murderers.
Hamilton Walters is about 6 feet 1 inch high, and weighs about 195 pounds, light complexion, light hair, blue eyes, regular features, supposed to be stabbed in his side by a small chisel.
J. J. Walters is about 6 feet high, weighs about 165 pounds, rather spare built, light complected, light hair, blue eyes, rather a flat nose, that twists a little to one side. He is stabbed through one hand with a small chisel.

Circuit Court in Session This Week - Six Given Penitentiary Sentences
Five men were given penitentiary sentences in Circuit Court here Monday with pleas of guilty and offences against the state.
Those sentenced were: Kermit Coe Bradley and Bill Lancaster of Noel charged with burglarizing the Manning Filling Station at Noel a few days ago of $23. Each man was given a five year sentence.
A.B. Watson, who assisted in the robbery of the Southwest City Liquor Store more than a year ago, recently was returned here from Texas,
was also given a five year sentence.
Roy Lamb, charged with forgery, was sentenced to two years.
Woodrow Elkins, an Indian youth who broke jail here on Election Day, was given two years for jail breaking and five years for stealing an automobile.
Raymond High, who plead guilty to stealing chickens in the night time from Lewis Carson in the east part of the county, was given two years.

Military News
Jeremy B. Fregia
Jeremy B. Fregia has joined the United States Army under the Delayed Entry Program.
The program gives young men and women the opportunity to delay entering active duty for up to one year.
The enlistment gives the new soldier the option to learn a new skill, travel and become eligible to receive as much as $50,000 toward a college education.
After completion of basic military training, soldiers receive advanced individual training in their career job specialty prior to being assigned to their first permanent duty station. Fregia has reported to Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C. for basic training. He is the son of Sherri I. Caughman of Pineville, Mo.
