James T. Carter--
Age 75 years, three months and 26 days. A resident of East Prairie, passed away Thursday October 23, 1997, at the John J. Pershing V.A.
Medical center, in Poplar Bluff, Mo. Born June 27, 1922, in Armirell, Arkansas. Son of the late Huey A. and Tennie H. Adycock Carter.
Mr Carter had lived most of his life in Mississippi County where he was a construction worker. He was a member of the First Christian
Church in East prairie, Missouri. He was and Army Veteran Serving in WW11 and received the Purple Heart. he was also a member of the Sikeston Eagles Club, the American Legion, the D.V.A., the Charleston V.F.W. and the past member of the East Prairie Masonic Lodge. On Novemver 23, 1940 in New Madrid Missouri he was united in Marriage to Eleta Star Lindsey who survives of the home. Mr. Carter was preceded in death by two brothers, and Infant Sister and one granddaughter.
Surviving other than his wife, Two sons; Bobby Carter of Eastr Prairie, Mo and Phillip W. Carter of Cherryville, Missouri. Two Daughters; Vonda Mince of
East Prairie, Missouri and Betty Jackson of Sikeston, Missouri. One Brother: Fred Prentice of Heber Springs, Ark. One Sister: Joyce Young of Puyallap,
Washington.Ten Grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.Friends may call after 5:00P.M. Saturday October 25, 1997 at the Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie, Missouri. Funeral Services will be conducted Sunday Oct 26, 1997 at 2:P.M. in the Shelby Chapel with Bro. Martin Lucas of East Prairie, officiating. burial will follow in the Dogwood Cemetery near East Prairie. With the Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie in Charge of arrangements. East Prairie, MO--Funeral service for MILO CARDEN of East Prairie will be held at 4 p.m. today (June 26, 1992) at Shelby Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Ted Wimberley will officiate, with burial in East Prairie Memorial Park.
Carden, 58, died Wednesday, June 24, 1992, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.
He was born Dec. 18, 1933 in Mississippi County, son of Cage Vivett and Kathryn E. Dick Carden. He and Sylvia Parks were married Dec. 18,1953.Carden was a retired engineer with Oil Transportation Co. in New Orleans, La., and attended First Assembly of God Church here.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Dennis Carden of East Prairie; two daughters, Melisa Weaver of Dayton, Ohio, Heather Carden of the home; his mother of East Prairie;

CHARLESTON, MO--THELMA GERTRUDE CAIN of Charleston, died Tuesday, Aug. 11, 1987 at 4 a.m. at the Cape Girardeau Nursing Center.
She was 67 years old. She was born April 24, 1920 in Mississippi County, daughter of Tildon and Inez Garner Ishmael.
She lived her entire life in Mississippi County where she was a member of the VFW Auxiliary of Charleston. she worked at Charleston host house as a nurses aide
for 14 years before her retirement in 1982. She was of the Baptist faith.
She is survived by one daughter, Sandy Bendel, Cape Girardeau; one brother, Lee Ishmael, Virginia Beach, VA; one sister, Florence Hays, Wachula, FL; and two grandchildren.
Friends may call at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston after 5 p.m. Wednesday.
Graveside funeral rites will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at the Oak Grove Cemetery with the Rev. Marlyn Schott, pastor of Southside Baptist Church, officiating.

CHARLESTON, MO--WILLIAM ALAMANDER CARR, 82 years old, of Charleston died at 4 Monday morning in a Sikeston hospital following an extended illness.
Mr. Carr was a member of St. Henry's Catholic Parish in Charleston, where he had lived most of his life.
He was born Dec. 19, 1888, in Illinois, and married the former Miss Hazel Noble Aug. 28, 1911. She preceded him in death July 28, 1967.
Surviving are four sons, Louis, Orville, and Clinton Carr, all of Owensboro, KY, and Bill Carr, Granite City, Ill.; two daughters, Mrs. Charles Anderson, Charleston, and Mrs. George Goosby, The Dalles, Ore.; two brothers, Ralph and Leo Carr, both of Charleston; 22 grandchildren; and 28 great-grandchildren.
The body is at McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston where parish prayers will be said at 8 tonight. Funeral services will be at 10 Wednesday morning at St. Henry's Catholic Church.
The Rev. Michael Swalina will officiate, and burial will be in Calvary Cemetery near Charleston.

Mrs. Rosezette Comstock
CHARLESTON, MO.--Mrs. Rosezette Comstock, age 72 died in Thompson, Ohio, at the home of her daughter, Friday at 8 a.m.
She was a former resident of Charleston.
Preceded in death by her husband, she is survived by two sons, William of Willoughby, Ohio, and Dean of St. Louis; six daughters, Mrs. C. E. Finley of Route 1, charleston; Mrs. Robert Hayden and Mrs.. Virgil Hayden, both of Paynesville; Mrs. Charles Dean of Thompson, Ohio; Mrs. Lee Lawrence of Charden, Ohio; and Mrs. Verna Smith of Granite City, Ill.; three sisters, Mrs. Tom Gibbs of Swifton, Ark.; Mrs. Perry Harden of Grand Rapids, Mich.; and Mrs. W. A. Mctigue of Charleston; a brother, Clarence Holmes, of Bly, Ark.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced by the McMikle Funeral Home.
