A historical land suit. The heirs of Robert Goah Watson recover title
To one third of a league of land in Texas.
Robert Goah Watson was born in Scotland and came to the village of
New Madrid in 1805 to assume charge of a business conducted by his uncle,
Robert Goah of Detroit Mich. And Gabriel Hunot, one of the old French
residents of this county.. Mr Watson continued in business here for a number
of years. It was his custom to make annual visits to New Orleans from 1812
to the time of his death in 1855. He was writing his auto biography at the
time of his death.
The land was from a headright certificate at the Austin TX land office. In
Brazoria Co TX . There was transfer of the headright certificate to P.W.
Wynne, a notorious land forger, who transferred the certificate in Travis Co
TX in 1872 to W G Wilkins.
